Mutant Mayhem was great. Probably the second best TMNT movie? Yeah, I think so.

Ehhhhh….I didn’t think it was that great. It was a lot of noise and not a lot of substance. It gif a few laughs out of me but a far cry from the 1990 movie.

Oppenheimer on the other hand was amazing.

Nothing beats TMNT 1990, but I stand by my statement that Mutant Mayhem takes an easy second place.

I can't stand to look at it. The designs by themselves have a level of interest to them but seeing them moving around in an environment... I watched a trailer and it reminded me of a stomache ache. But I'm hearing good things about it so I will take pleasure in other people's joy. It's kinda wild how long those damn turtles have endured. I never thought I'd be middle-aged and still seeing kids still getting tv series and toys and shit of these guys. I didn't think the damn Simpsons would still be around either.

I saw a Fathom Events presentation of Princess Mononoke this weekend. It definitely gains a lot from the theater experience, but it has been at least 10 years since I last watched it and likely longer. I'd forgotten a huge amount of it, which was nice in its own way. I don't remember ever having watched it subbed, so that part was new...beggars can't be choosers, as I was in town on other business and happened to be there during this showing, so while I didn't have the option it was just as well I didn't.

The theater makes Princess Mononoke an all around more captivating experience... because it's harder to justify walking away. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a bad movie. I just can't sit through it at home. I can watch some of the cool parts and then I want to go wash dishes or something.

I feel like you could say the same about so many movies, though. All of the movies, in fact. I'm not disagreeing with you, either.

I really want to see The Boy and the Heron.

I feel like I have no interest in watching it. I read a plot synopsis was just "wtf." Tell us how it is whenever you get to see it.

Movies have to have dull parts, or the cool parts won't be as cool. Or something.

I mean, yes. But also, no. Princess Mononoke feels a bit too dull in the dull parts. But I like Earwig and the Witch so maybe my opinion don't mean shit.

Someone uploaded the unreleased (at least in the US) Gen 13 animated movie:

I've seen worse. It was passable. I didn't hate it. It sure brought back memories. Like how me spending $40 on Gen 13 issue #2 in the mid-nineties was a mistake. But I wanted to know what happened and I had the other issues in the mini-series but not fucking #2.

Gen¹³! Adam Warren was a real trailblazer with his bootleg anime titty girls. Did you ever read Empowered?

Damn, I consulted Wiki to make sure I wasn't talking out my ass, and apparently I was! Warren didn't even get involved until later, but his covers are always what I remember whenever someone mentions Gen¹³. And wow, the series he worked on was actually called "Bootleg". Too perfect.

I do not like Adam Warren art. It's the faces.  I thought the original first Gen 13 mini series was solid but after that, I immediately began slipping off the Gen 13 train and fell right off. It didn't feel like they had any solid story ideas after the first mini series. And then when J Scott Campbell left to focus on Danger Girl, my interest was done entirely.

Went to Blue Beetle tonight. It wasn't good. It wasn't bad, either. Probably closer to bad than good, though.

I'll be shocked if it makes any money.

I keep seeing promos for it, and all I get is, "go see it and support Latino representation in Hollywood!" I would imagine way more folks would support a good movie that has Latinos in it than would back a crap movie *just because* it has Latinos in it. If Hollywood wants to promote representation properly, do the folks the favor of not throwing them in shit flicks just so you can mark that off your diversity chell list.

There's a character in that movie named Milagro (Beetle's sister, I think) and that was the first time I realized Milagro was a legit Spanish first name. El Milagro is Schmoo's favorite corn tortilla brand.

I'm watching Puss in Boots: the Last Wish and I can feel the bloat on this movie. 102 minutes? For what fucking reason? Around 80 minutes for a kids movie max. Jesus Christ. And the dog is annoying. Personally, just because people that chitter on like this end me. He was needed to make the movie work but he was still annoying. I really liked the movie more pre-beard. I even laughed at a couple of parts. And the giant fight and wolf fights were cool. Goldi and her bears were hit and miss. I know I would've enjoyed this movie much more if it were more... concise, I guess. I rate this "needed more knock-off Jiminy" out of 10.

I use to love Adam Warren

Anyway I saw The Last Voyage of Demeter and it was actually pretty good. Only the second time I’ve watched a movie with a main character named Clemens (spelled wrong of course) the other was Alien 3. Shame this movie of going to bomb hard.

I'm willing to bet Demeter is a much better movie than Blue Beetle. I chose... poorly.

I watched that new Monkey King thing on Netflix. Trash.

The Creator. Really good up until the last 15/20 minutes? It's like they weren't sure how to end it, and what they eventually settled on was just kind of meh.

Killers of the Flower Moon was really good, but 3½ hours is just too much movie for me these days. I just about freaked out near the end, but managed to powet through. Bloody hell.

Just to be clear, it wasn't anything in the movie itself that got to me, my mental endurance simply decided to try and flee the country after being subjected to 180+ minutes of sitting in a dark room staring at a wall.

Just got back from a 9:30 showing of Teh Mahvels. I think there might have been 7 of us in the room, total. Probably not a good sign.

The movie itself was... eh? I suppose it wasn't awful. Better than the first one. I seriously doubt this one has any chance of making over a billion dollars like the original did, though. Like, no hope in hell. Not that that's dictated by relative quality or anything. I think people are just fed up with superheroes in general.

Is there a story-reason why her outfit looks so fuckin' dirty? (I don't like Monica Rambeau's outfit either but at least it looks like she takes some 409 and a scrubbing brush to it.)

That part of the movie they all get a wardrobe change, and Captain Marvel looks like she picked hers up at Spirit Halloween. It looks like pajamas. Or some kind of track suit or something. Maybe she's going for a jog?

Yeah, her "updated" or "improved" costume or whatever you want to call it just looks cheap and bizarre. I can't explain it.
