I like very little j-pop. The girls voices are obnoxious and the male songs do nothing for me. If I'm going to listen to Japanese music, it's going to be anime OSTs and nothing else unless it's incredibly weird, which means I'll be watching the M/V.

I actually enjoy Korean pop, but only the girl groups and PSY. OPPA GANGNAM STYLE

For b, often times a copy is an improvement, removing the flaws of the inferior original.

Additionally, Korean culture has influenced Japan, Japanese culture has influenced Korea. It is a two-way street. Don't forget that Japan occupied Korea, forced Koreans to take Japanese names, and tried to basically wipe out Korean culture replacing it with Japanese concepts. If the Japanese want to blame someone for Koreans copying Japan, they should blame the Japanese empire.

How can two countries in the same part of the world not have tons of competition in their industries? How can one side or the other not call the 'copy-cat' argument while knowingly fabricating copycats itself? Kimuchi is a pretty well known example, where Korea is the known origin and the Japanese version is the variant.

Arguing that one copies the other really gets you nowhere.

And in k-pop I see far more borrowed from the USA than from Japan.

Sadly, I'll likely never date a Korean because everything they want to feed me will have fish in it.

First one was repetitive. Girls in lingerie did help, I'll admit that much.

Second one was also repetitive. These girls have no individuality on stage. It's a choir. I don't want to watch or listen to a choir. The largest group I have enjoyed is 9 people.

Brown Eyed Girls, 2ne1, SNSD, Miss A, 4minute, T-ara, KARA, the list goes on, all superior to this.

I admit the songs are catchy, and if I heard them on the radio, I'd leave them on. They do not compel me to prefer J-pop. Quite the opposite.

I'm willing to try something else out, if you've got something better in mind.

Your problem is that you're thinking of these groups are something more than they are, which is a bunch of pretty faces that "can sing", dance and have hot bodies. That's all they are, you're making it look like a 2DEEP4U issue but it isn't. The songs are meant to be catchy and easy going, you won't find some radiohead shit in one of these groups

Kinda-not-really related, do you listen to Beady Eye?

I have listen to some of their stuff, but haven't broken down and bought the album yet. It does sounds a little more old school Oasis, which is strange because Noel isn't in the band and he wrote all those songs. In fact only guy from that era in the band is Liam.

Also heard a little bit of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds too.

But really I'm just biding my time till Oasis gets back together, which is really only a matter of time.
