Later during that show they had some skit with Michael Phelps and Amy Poehler at a resturant, and the waiter was wearing a Sanosuke shirt. What was up with that?
Edit: I found a video of the guy with the Kenshin shirt. The skit's at the very end of this video, after the Space Olympics song that reminds me of Daft Punk and Eiffel 65 for some reason.

The T-mobile skit is kinda funny too. "What would you know about SEXY?!"

And because this was originally a thread about Palin, here's my reasons why she's not hot.

1) She's older than my mother for christ sake!
2) The pictures of her in a flag bikini? Photoshooped. I can tell by the pixels and after seeing a few shoops.
3) She probably has stretch marks and flab under that leisure suit. You don't know!
4) The 60's called. They want that hairstyle back.
5) They also want the glasses back.
6) Anyone who would vote for someone because they think she's hot needs to be shot.
7) Anyone who votes for her because they're a woman and she's a woman needs to be shot too.

MILF is Venessa Williams and Michelle Pfeiffer. MILF is like Jamie Lee Kurtis doing the striptease for Aahhnold in True Lies. Palin doesn't even come close.
9) Guns don't automatically make a woman hot.

Well, judging from a couple of his skits, they let Michael Phelps. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, assume he's getting a lot of "8 Gold Medals, baby" ass and that was the reason why he sucked and stuttered all over the place.

Now if you were to say someone like Ann Coulter, even though she's a horrendous bitch, I'd agree with you.

I'd even say Michigan's Governer Granholm is hotter than either of them. She has a mole on her cheek that adds +5 attractiveness.

Considering Obama's (not to mention many of the Dem's) abyssmal record on gay rights and overall connection to religious groups that quietly promote 'fagdrags'... I don't get it. Maybe it's because I am a post-Dem now.

Dunno. Lesser of two evils? My brother and his partner don't even go to the Pride parade anymore. They feel that the best way to promote equality for gays is to behave equally; i.e. openly worry about family, retirement, how the yard looks and all the other boring stuff everyone else does. "Wow - they're just like US!" *dingdingding*

Similarly, people wonder why Eddie & I work for companies constantly jumping mouth agape on the gilded Republican banana. We can work for these folk and have plenty of disposable income to give to our interest charities or work for people more in line with our philosphies and just have enough money to take care of ourselves - we think biting our tongues and doing the former is more productive.

Next time I have a naughty Alan Cumming dream, I'll try to remember to ask him about his political views. Going to sleep on Ambien when the sun goes down is giving me some.... unusual ones.

2004 debates were pretty evenly split in many polls, oddly enough. That's not the same as just blowing one off entirely. Perception of who did better can be affected by something as trivial as who got the closer shave in opinion polls, but not showing up is not a good idea.

The way I see it, McCain actually showed up for work, which is something Obama should try sometime. Campaigning for president is about the only notable thing Obama's done since getting into the Senate.

Bush held his own against both Kerry and Algore in all three debates with both, which surprised many since he's supposed to be a rank idiot compared to your average chair leg, let alone his opponents. In fact, the biggest thing that happened debatewise in my memory was that Bush was seen as the good guy by many after the way Gore went after him in their first debate, and that probably figured into the tightness of the race thereafter.

Debates != speeches. While they can have their little soundbites (and if you saw that crummy debate last night, that's pretty much all it was), using them critically is key to success. Bill Clinton was an expert at this, but it's why Reagan was known as the Great Communicator, since he was actively involved in the composition of his speeches. Which is why that Wednesday night thing that BBC used to air with the Prime Minister getting grilled in Parliament was so interesting to watch. The whole thing was a Q&A with lots of information being thrown about complete with a healthy compliment of zingers. I gained a whole new respect for Tony Blair after watching him run that gauntlet.
