I tried watching it and, god, it was like Pokemon but with samurai or some shit. All they would do was run to each other and then a bunch of seizure lights would kick on. Then we had face-shot after face-shot. Yes, I see they have fucking faces. I couldn't get through the first ep.

I also saw some pos a week or so back called Sacred Blacksmith or some shit. Man, I wanted to skin that annoying, whiny bitch. All she would do is declare her own name. So she meets an unarmed bully in the market and threatens him, then meets a dangerous, armed dude, takes forever to stand up to him, and after one blow she's all "huff, i don't know how much more of dis i can takes. i needs a man ta save me". What? Really? You didn't even break a sweat, you silly, stupid cuntrag. And that was within the first five minutes. I passed on that shit so hard.

Not at all. In Sailor Moon each season took much longer to tell than the equivalent story in the manga. To compensate for this most seasons had a healthy mix of episodes which progressed some sort of oerall story, and episodes which had an individual story onto themselves. The problem comes when a series sticks closely to the original story, but drags that story over a long time and doesn't fill those bits in with any new content. The Sailor Moon anime had a ton of story development that's outside of the scope of the manga by the very fact that there was so much more time to tell that same story. Compare that to the Drag On Balls of the world where they sit around doing dick all for most episodes just waiting for something to happen.

I tried two different shows on Netflix, the first ep of each:

Chrome Shelled Regios - This just felt generic like I've seen this before in 10+ whatever other shows. The main character was one of those stoic, above-level "whatever" type asses I can't stand as a lead. Tons of characters I couldn't give a shit about thrown at us at once. Weird action happening on-screen and then abruptly halted for some lame, corny-ass school shit which then gets interrupted by the action we saw before. I got why they did this at the end of the episode but I didn't like it. Also, I just hated the look of it. Even the monster looked like it was ripped off from somewhere. The recycled voices, because most of the anime on Netflix is Funimation and they pretty much use up the same pool of people for everything, didn't help either.

Linebarrels of Iron - I felt this one had potential but still fell flat. At least it seems it was made with the intention of making the lead character an irritating ass (as opposed to the previous show above where that was an unintended side effect). Unfortunately, a lot of it became very predictable. I even predicted the second the naked girl showed up even without knowing anything about the show. I think I rolled my eyes so hard my glasses flew to Kansas.

The line at the end of the ep was a real surprise. I was like "Holy M Night Shamalamadingdong, he's dead?" But then I acted upon the nagging instinct that told me death in this series is probably meaningless, which it does appear to be. Then whatever. Who cares if he's dead?

Read the ending of KareKano online since I used to looooove the anime when I was little and I heard about the f---ed up ending. I dont think anyone here has seen Karekano, am i correct?

Despite its flaws, Kare Kano was one of my favorite anime series ever. I don't remember where it took its turn...probably when it started focusing on Arima's screwed up past around volume 13...but I agree with you: the last third or so of that manga series was ass.

That was always one I wanted to get around to seeing but never did. How does it end?

Also I noticed Death Note is available for the streaming queue even though I can't play it yet. Still neat that it's coming. I wonder if it'll be subbed or dubbed?

So the main guy (arima) and the main girl (yukino) end up together of course. But the guy rapes the girl and she gets pregnant (when they were still teens). They forward it like hmm 15 years maybe? i cant remember, but now they have twins too, and their first child, a girl, starts going to highschool and the main guy's best friend starts having feelings for the GIRL. YES, ARIMA'S DAUGHTER THAT JUST STARTED HIGHSCHOOL and the girl tells him she loves him etc and he accepts it blablabla bullshit blabla. Worst ending ever

OMG YES THE EPISODE RECAP. Everytime I would see an episode with that I would want to rip my hair off. THey did whole episodes recapping the shit, didnt it? like evangelion. goddamn
And yes it was hilarious (which is the main thing I loved about it) but I thought some parts were reaaally boring, especially when they dealed with their psychological stuff. And the drawing of the last chapters (in the manga )sucked balls.

I loved it back in the day but I gotta agree with you... does not hold up by today's standards. Not a bit. I tried rewatching it once in the interest of nostalgia and it's kinda of painful. Especially with the shitton of filler.
