Welcome to the NHK! I only saw the first two or three discs of that. I need to pick it back up, though I'll probably have to start it over.

I had been collecting them, but that was right around when the bottom dropped out of the North American anime market (Hello, oversaturation!), and ADV decided they would only release the sixth and final disc through The Right Stuf, or whatever that store is called, and it would have cost me a ridiculous amount to import it, so I just didn't.

Now I think I could probably buy the entire series for a fraction of what I paid for the first five discs.

Anyway, that was pretty much when I gave up on purchasing anime altogether.

I don't think ADV is even a thing anymore. All the rights they held were sold off to various other companies.

I tried an ep of Burst Angel. Not awful but certainly not interesting. I really wanted to kick the lead girl and that sissy-boy chef was no better. PASS.

I'm watching 009-1, which seems kinda decent.

Burst Angel would have been more elegantly named Bust Angel, as it was very much about underage busts, as well as being a bust. I saw the first episodes of 009-1, but I remember nothing of it.

As for ADV, they survive as several different companies now (wiki lists them as Sentai Filmworks (licensor), AEsir Holdings (rights management), Seraphim Studios (localization), Valkyrie Media Partners (runs Anime Network), and Section23 Films (distro/marketing)).

Today I purchased and watched the Eva 2.22 movie. My penis enjoyed it but I had mixed feelings on ... well what would be obvious to an Asuka fan like myself. I have assembled my thoughts in a very serious business open letter to the film.

I certainly appreciated that this film was a departure from the source material, while the first film was a less than compelling rehash of existing scenes. While certainly some details can be changed, there are certainly some things which are so fundamentally Evangelion that they should not be touched.

Simple themes like Shinji being a bitch with daddy issues, Rei being cold and boring, Evas fighting angels and… oh that’s right…

… Asuka actually being in the whole fucking story and not just dying in some bull shit scene that wasn’t even the climax of the movie! Asuka’s supposed to live when pretty much the whole fucking world dies. Even giant crazy earth sized fucking Rei dies and is nothing but a bleeding head in the ocean while Asuka’s chillin’ on the beach like it was a fucking party and she’s getting a tan. She doesn’t die when she’s beat the shit up and in hospital. She doesn’t die when the 3rd impact turns the whole fucking planet to goo. She doesn’t die when little bitch Shinji tries to go all Chris Benoit on her throat. She doesn’t die ’cause she’s hard as nails and the best character in these shows and movies and the only thing worse than not having her at all in the joke of a first movie is killing her ass off and replacing her with some reject stripper bitch in a plaid skirt and glasses who no one fucking likes anyway ’cause she’s a stupid bitch of a bitchy bitch!

3rd impact? The 4th impact’s gonna be Asuka coming back and laying the smack down on all the stupid bitches who cried about other bull shit while they should have been trying to clone Asuka or doing some AT Field hand waving Deus Ex Machina shit to bring her sweet ass back.

Surely, some Eva magic will make her return in some fashion in Evangelion 3.1415 You Will (Not) Settle on a Numbering Scheme. Please include much fan service and borderline nude scenes when you chose to do so. If you do not chose to bring her back, please fuck off.

I tried to watch the first movie but the disc was so damn dirty I barely got through the first fight scene. Netflix needs to learn to clean their stuff off. Speaking of Netflix, They started streaming Naruto, Bleach and InuYasha but...they are all subs. WHY??!!!

Because subs are better for you. Probably has something to do with rights that some other streaming service has, perhaps Hulu.

OMG, SUBS? That is so awesome. I may actually watch some of that now. Fucking A. Also, Honey and Clover is also subbed. May have already mentioned it but throwing that in there since it's a Viz property. Guess I'll have to chell to see if it's the same thing with Nana.

ACTUALLY, now that I'm looking at the list (yes I have those eps in my comp) , there are only 2 of the fight Kenshin vs Soujirou. And btw half of the whole thing is about his past. SO THERE.

My point is the only point of the season was to get to and fight Shishio. The fact that more time was spent on the mini boss(es) is even worse! What a waste of time. Oh my got it's a 2 episode long flashback to the past of mini boss #2! FASCINATING!!! What exactly happened that whole season throughout 45 episodes? Kenshin fought a bunch of a people to get to Shishio, then Kenshin fought Shishio. What happened in the first season in a mere 27 episodes? I shit ton of stuff including many individual stories isolated to their own episodes or short series of a few episodes with many events and character interactions.

What happened in season 3? No idea. I gave up after that Shishio bull shit.
