Merla's been watching a lot of Star Trek.

This must be stopped somehow.

Anyway, she says in her viewings so far that there's no indication Kirk has gotten laid.

Yeah he basically fathered like a thousand illegitimate, half alien children all over the galaxy.

I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be right.

Shatner completely squicks me out in the ad where he's pawing all over the travel agent.  Bleh! :P

Only because of 60s Standard and Practices. In today's NYPD blue world, he'd have a collection of large red Yeoman panties.

And at least she is watching the OS and not TNG. Instead of respecting other cultures, drinking tea, and quoting Shakespeare, she is killing Klingons, making out with Orion slave girls, and making fun of Spock for being different. Besides you wouldn't want her going around the house yelling "Engage" and "Make It So" all the time.

No, she just sits down next to me and spouts fun facts like pointing out when Spock smiled.  And how Shatner must be, like, the fattest vegan ever.

That's not cool at all.  I'd go so far as to say that facts arn't even fun. How about something like "Scotty only had 3 fingers on his right hand and all of the close ups of his hand where a stunt double." or "Harlan Ellison wrote City on the Edge of Forever, but they butchered it and still bitches about it to this day. It's ok though cause he's a douche and got what he deserved."

I've been watching it late saturday night at 1am.

I find it odd that Kirk and Spock can't go 5 minutes after beaming down to a planet without either getting into a shootout, or being captured by someone and surrendering... and then when they escape they get captured again by the opposing side 2 minutes later.

When you really think about it, that makes for poor storyline.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I agree with Eddie Izzard - they really should have had options on the phasers like "aliens hear ice cream truck" and "aliens remember they left coffee pot on".

Walter Koenig is such a sweetie.  Jimmy Doohan could out-horndog IDE with one nut trussed behind his back.

I have Walter Koenig's autograph. I'm sure it's worth all of 5 bucks on ebay.

If I ever gain any notoriety for fantasy film fame I will put this theory to the test.

I have Alec Guinness. On a picture of him as Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's worth hundreds.

Not really related, but I just like to brag.

Merla been working through the second season, where Kirk gets significantly more boo-tay.  We also happened to catch one on tee vee and it was obvious he'd gotten his space mack on when one scene he's kissing a foil-wearing chick and next thing you know, she's fixing her hair and he's adjusting his boot.  We all know that meant teh sex in the 60's!

Oh yeah, and afterwards, there was the hugest, juiciest fucking spider ever on our ceiling and I had to Hitlerize it.

I like how the newest star trek tried to emulate the oldest one but seeing scott backula make out with chicks just seems unnatural to me for some reason.

That sounds super fucking creepy.  Scott Bakula as a space mack-daddy.  Ugh.  It just doesn't work.  He looks too goody-goody boyscout to me.
