Every childfree individual I've ever spoken with wants the following. It's really not much.

- Not to get a steaming load of shit in the form of insults and character assassination for not wanting children.

- Recognition of the simple fact that not everyone wants to be or should be a parent. We don't want to "have just one and try it". Chances are very much AGAINST our "changing our minds once we have one". Give us some credit for recognizing that we're talking about another LIFE. Having a kid isn't nickle slots in Vegas.

Now I can only speak for myself here, but not having children was never a "hedonistic lifestyle choice" for me. It was a gut feeling that had been there since I hit puberty. Possibly this is an innate species survival technique to ensure enough resources, as I've heard theorized. Hell, there are muriqui monkeys in South America that practice birth control by eating phytoestrogens. Obviously they're not making a lifestyle choice.

99.99% of my fury is toward the irresponsible parents. From day one, it is a parent's JOB to guide, direct and prepare his/her offspring to be a functioning member of whatever society they are a part. Withholding such is one of the worst forms of child abuse I can think of because the parent is denying the child the opportunity to learn. On the flip side to this, someone with a hedonistic lifestyle probably wouldn't be the best canidate to be a parent.

Not like I can take it back to the hospital and say I changed my mind. I think they are just trying to trick us into being breeders like them.

I cringe every time I see a headline about some broad having a kid long after the age she should be doing so. Someone invariably bounces up to me with the good news that "it's not too late!" I swear someone's going to be shaking my cremation urn hollering, "SURE YOU DON'T WANT ANY KIDS?" :rolleyes:

Not if you remember the receipt. "Yes, I'd like to return this child. It's unwrapped but I never used it."

I think even if I wanted children, I still wouldn't want to give birth. Bleh. Forget what it would do to my body, I'd be mortified that every other thing I did would somehow kill it. And then there would be a corpse inside of me, and I'd give birth to a zombie and everyone would be screaming.

I do fanart and stuff, too btw... except I hardly have any right now... Art class has discouraged fan art and anime-y or comic-y styles... except they still want us to do stylized stuff that is either of our own original styles or something that is less common in comics/anime and more common in art galleries (my person opinion).

Ah, thanks Nuri. I used a black marker with a brush tip (only shaped like it; no actual bristles) to draw it. I used a bunch of references, though, so it wasn't too hard. My dad took my picture in those poses/angles and I sketched them out before using the marker. You can kinda tell which ones I made up real quick where the face is too round... (I did it late at night before it was due).

What kind of marker was it? Just curious. I used to draw early, early stuff back when I was a kid with sharpies, not knowing the damn things greened over time. But yeah, it's pretty damn good for you having done it late at night. Also wondering, do you have one of those posable mannequins? Or do you prefer using pictures as a reference?

It was a black Copic Ciao marker. Yeah, expensive <_< (well, it's like 5 bucks for one)I just used it because it came in a set... yeah, even more expensive <_<.

There are brush-tip markers and pens that are much cheaper and actually the ink on those are darker and blacker (and don't fade) than a black Copic marker. I have 2 Faber Castell pens that I use that don't smudge/bleed when you color over it with a Copic marker, so the ink on a Faber Castell is alcohol-proof and waterproof (as it says on the pen).

I don't have any of those poseable mannequins. I don't feel that they realistically represent human anatomy, and they are not that poseable. I've drawn enough figures using guidelines and 3d geometric shapes that I can usually draw a figure and work it out from memory and adjust to make it look right.
When I do need a reference, I either look for a photo or take one, or even look at another artist's work from a comic or something.

Yeah he's rigid and looks very odd when you try to stand him up straight like a normal person, but it kinda helps... at least for drawing people in Spider-Man poses. But his poseability is pretty impressive... I think it's the first time where I've seen an American action figure where you can move the shoulders forward and back.
What's weird is that the current version of this toy has magnets in his hands. I feel kinda gipped.
