They're closing the fucking Detroit Zoo! That zoo's a huge zoo and it's a nice zoo too!

Fuck you Quame Killpatrick, you fucking ass! It's all your fault for spending tax money on escalades, rims, bling, and your fucking trips to Vegas to cheat on your wife! And yet the idiots in Detroit still voted for you to stay in office for a second term! Gah!

The guy was named the third worst mayors in the US, and yet he was re-elected for another 4 years! This is why we shouldn't let idiots vote.

From what I heard, what happened was the city council and mayor suddenly announced that the zoo would be closed the next day. What really happened was the council said the zoo would be closed in May due to lack of funding.

In either case, people are raising money to keep the 80+ year old zoo running, so I think it's safe.
