I'm remembering my mother telling me that she was against abortion, so I'd better damn well not make her have to take me to have one!
And, yes, she was serious. She probably would have taken me in the trunk under cover of darkness so the neighbors wouldn't see. My dad was a rather well-known interior designer, and there was no way in Hell a bastard child would have been risked. This attitude isn't unusual amongst people who feel that their social position could be jepoardized by such, hence many entires in the "only moral abortion is my abortion" files.
Funny - with that attitude, you'd think she would have been happy to find out about my high school girlfriend. But noooooo.....
