See...My Dad's been having some heart trouble lately. Not Cool. Today, my Mom took'em to the ER, not because of any heart attack, but to finally get proper testing for it.
Now he's being shipped to Frisco for an angiogram, and there's a big possibility of him needing Angioplasty. We find out Thursday

...Slight Freakage. I'd scale it at a three.

I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be right.

Early testing & treatment is half the battle won already - snaps to your mom for taking him.  How old is your dad?

He's lucky, my dad had a heart attack in his thirties.  He's pretty much fucked now.

My dad would fall down and stuff and sometimes I wonder if he was just faking it.

Well he gets the Angiogram today....which could cause a heart attack or a stroke as well.
Freakout level is now up to FIVE.

Not that the procedure doesn't have risks, but doctors now routinely scare the piss out of anyone who needs anything more complicated than a tongue depressor to comply with malpractice liability requirements.  They're supposed to include the statistics for complications occurence along with the CYA Clause they're delivering, but that usually isn't much comfort.  If he has a history of kidney problems, he would be at higher risk for trouble, but if not, he should be fine.

Please post when you know something! *big hug*

Freak out Level 10 and rising.
Double bypass surgery goes down this friday. I nearly lost it, broke down in the bathroom and cried.

I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be right.

I'm having a flashback to my dad, Emmy, and I know how scared you are, but *the problem was caught while there's still time to fix it*.   I'm sure your family has all the paper to read they can stand on the subject, but the double bypass means that his heart was healthier than most who go through bypass procedures.  That's working for him, his relatively-young age is a positive factor - with lifestyle and/or dietary changes after the surgery and medication treatment, you'll have him around for a long time.  We recently lost a cousin who had had quadruple bypass surgery 28 years ago and lived to be 91!  Surgery, treatment & medication have all made vast improvements since then.

Add my prayers as well.  Let us know.
