I have touched an Xbox 360 for the first time today.. and I was even able to play a demo on it.

I'll never wash these hands again.... until later tonight that is.

Anyway, the barebones unit, with just the console, a corded controller, and AV cable is $299. The deluxe unit with detachable hard drive on top, wireless controller, and Xbox live is $399.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

360 = Teh suck.

Save your money for a PS3 and Revolution. Fuck Sony's gaping asshole, and tell Bill Gayes to fuck off.

Fuck an Xbox.

Nintendo is lame these days.  I shit on the Revolution and it's dumb controller.  I'll laugh my head off the day they announce their console market is going third party.

Shut the fuck up, the new  XBOX will be raped by the competition this time.

And the Nintendo controller is great, and you shouldn't be so narrow minded to think that they would only have it in that style. Ninendo is the company of 1,000 peripherals.

And how are you not being narrow minded saying that the 360 will be raped?

Whether you like it or not, the Xbox has its feet firmly planted. To say Nintendo will rape Microsoft just proves that you haven't seen a single sales figure.

Sony will stick its big donkey dick in Nintendo and Microsoft's asses again, though. There's no real question there.

Ninendo is the company of 1,000 peripherals.

That's the problem. We don't WANT to buy a million peripherals to play a game. Everything neccessary to play a game comfortably should come with the console.

And another thing - innovation for a console is POINTLESS. The only thing consoles need to improve upon is hardware capability. Innovative games are what's vital, not a remote with a light-sensor at the end.

I want Nintendo to do well. I'm sure I'll buy a Revolution - but Nintendo is digging themselves a grave. Revolution may do well with the fans, but it's not going to appeal to any type of mainstream market.

--Which is their biggest downfall.  Remember the "connectivity" hype with the Gamecube?  Colossal failure.  Having to buy two controllers (the standard and the adapter, I'm not talking about that uncomfortable nunchaku either) just to play games regularly...

Narrow minded?  Oh please. calling that controller "innovative" one thing, but the design is so lacking that playing conventional console games is out of the question.  To say that it's a machine for non-gamers is amusing, because they have no audience but rabid fanboys.

I mean really it's no wonder they aren't even trying anymore.  I read in a recent interview with Miyamoto that he "doesn't even play games anymore."  I've lost a lot of respect for Nintendo and their lack of a business plan over the years.  There is no point to having a company like that and not trying, they are no better than EA.

As for the 360, it's really got very little competition.  It's got the PS3, which will be colossally expensive, with no online plan and probably a non-holiday launch (something that absolutely hurt the PSPs initial impressions)  and the Revolution which will baffle the fuck out of "non-gamers" as to how it works...  Hell, I play ALOT of games, and I can't see alot working on the Revolution--much like the DS,  conventional games will play POORLY.

Yet Nintendo continues to make money in it's Niche. And Sony will rape the 360. Plus buying one is like buying a dreamcast.

:P Enjoy the new Dreamcast.

What basis do you have that the 360 will bomb, anyway? It just looks like you're using your irrational hate of Microsoft to spell downfall for the console.

Pretty much.  The Dreamcast's biggest problem was the Sony hype machine and Segas poor track record.  The Saturn had just bombed before the Dreamcast...  Here we have the successor to a successful machine with a holiday release and a lot of strong titles.  Everyone is sold out practically everywhere, there is a BIG, BIG demand for it,  you can't turn on a TV and not see the ads and all of that it has Bill Gate's money behind it...yeah sounds like a big failure to me.

I love an Xbox. I love my Box like my bastard son that Nuri never told you guys about.. It'll be awhile before I get an 360 though, because that's a lot of green this near to christmas. I did play it at Target and it's pretty nice, but I don't know it it's THAT much nicer then the orginal to jusirfy me going out of my way to get it right now. In fact "King Kong" looked really pixeliated and not very clean, not even as clean as most Xbox games. But the WW2 games (Can't remember if it was Call of Duty 2 or another game) was pretty clean and really fun to play.

You know why it will bomb?

PS3 will be better, and no amount of shooting games can save the XBox.

And Nintendo will always have it's fanbase, which has kept it going through the time when it was said that the playstation and Xbox would kill it.

That price is being blamed on how much the technology costs now. Since it's got time to be redeveloped, and since the Japanese technology shared through METI keeps Japan at the top of the technological market.

Though with the way Microsoft gobbles up its American competitors...

Probably will end up being the same as the PS2 was, plus inflation. of course by 6 months, it'll drop to 100+ dollars like every other system, and in 2008 you'll be able to get one @ the goodwill for 20 bucks.

Which is when I'll buy it. HUZZAH!

I got my PS2 for nothing! A buddy gave me his brothers when he moved and couldn't be bothered to take it with him. Course all the games where so scratched I couldn't play any of them. When the guy bought a game he'd throw the case away and store them in piles on the floor.

New systems are ALWAYS expensive, so saying that a system will eat a chunk of cash is equivalent to saying "MT. FUJI IS IN JAPAN". It's a "DUH" factor. Of course it'll be expensive, and then later it'll drop in price. It's a pattern.
Me, I just don't trust sony enough to get a PS3 out the gate., and we just can't afford a 360 right now, so I'll be happy with my DS, Ps2, Xbox, and Gamecube.
Besides, Advance Wars: Dual Strike is frustratingly good and time consuming.

I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be right.

Well they were mostly racing games, which I hate, so it wasn't a big loss. But I could have taken them to Gamestop and traded them in, but I can't do that if they don't work. I know a guy that can sand games to get the scratches out, but I don't know if that'll really help or if they are too far gone.

People are saying $500 is the PS3 price, but I'm thinking it'll be around $350 at launch.  Sony'll eat whatever difference they have to get it out the door.  The tech's not going to drop in price a whole lot between now and spring, so look for them to undergo lots of internal redesigns over the first year or two to shave their overhead as much as humanly possible.

As for who I'm pulling for, Nintendo is my sentimental favorite, but because they've done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot for ten years I'll go with Microsoft.  They're the underdogs, and Sony as a company is no better.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Ha, I haven't bought a console since buying my PS, and I even bought that one late.  My next one will probably be a Sony one for the sheer reason of backwards compatibility.  Unless someone comes up with something that can play another system's games.

That is only a few years away. Soon some hacker will develop a perfect program that will be a multisystem emulator, which will adapt perfectly to any system, and with the size of Hard Drives going up, and processors getting better (water cooled = Goodness) means soon no one will buy playstations or Nintendos.

Also why does everyone say that Nintendo blocks third party developers? I see alot of third party games for GC. Just because GC doesnt have the new Fifty Cent game... well it makes me more happy.
