Nope, know why? Because in 1999 I got a limited edition Mace Windu action figure in the mail because I thought it would be worth something. He came with a blue lightsaber. My brother got the Ki Adi Mundi figure because it had a purple lightsaber and he wanted Leia to have a purple one.
I have that same figure and also a reason why all the jedi from Ep1 figures didn't match the color of Lightsabers they had in Ep2.
Mace like most of the other Jedi except Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in ep1 never ignited their sabers so Lucasfilm never assigned them colors. Hasbro believed that Jedi just standing there with a Saber hilt on his belt would be boring and no kids would buy them. So they began to radomly assign colors to sabers that Lucasfilm never gave them guidelines on. So when Ep2 rolled around they acutally did use their sabers Hasbro had to changed all the saber colors (which wasn't too hard since they introduced a new two part saber eariler that year for all Jedi Characters) So Ki-Adi Mundi's went from Purple to Blue, Adi Gallia's turned from Red to Blue and Mace's went from Blue to Purple. It was just Hasbro running with the ball and not based on any info given to them. They proably always had those color sabers we just never saw them in Ep1.
But also, the saber that Mace had in ep1 is different from the one he used in ep2 and 3 so a color change COULD have happened, much like Luke Skywalke'sr from ESB to ROTJ. Which was actually suppose to be blue, but the Green showed up better against the sand in the sail barge sequence so they went with Green.
See....told you I was a bigger SW geek then you both combined. LOL
