In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind - that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences any more. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps it is fate that today is fourth of July. And you will, once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression or persecution, but from annihilation. We’re fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday but as the day when the world declared in one voice, 'We will not go quietly into the night, we will not vanish without a fight, we’re going to live on, we’re going to survive. Today we celebrate our Independence Day!'

I liked ID4 up until the humans started winning. Same reason I don't wanna see War of the Worlds. Stupid human movies. Aliens would kick our bootays hardcore.

ID4 only got on my nerves because of Will Smith. War of the Worlds looks like the same boring "aliens are taking over" crap. Also, it has that annoying little girl and Tom Cruise, who has apparently gotten a terminal case of teh crazy.

To celebrate the 4th of July I watched ID4 today. It's a yearly tradition I try my best to keep up. Solid movie!

I had enough of ID4 when Merla borrowed the special edition DVD from some relatives a couple of months back, and proceeded to watch it continually. And then we watched some of it on AMC when they had that thing where they tell you various facts as the movie is playing. I never knew that first alien attack used James Brown's voice.

I like how Brooke Shields offered him tickets to her theater show, one adult and one child. I however don't think it's a good idea to get all prego again when the first one sent you on a three year tour with a bottle of Paxil.

The Ending of War of Worlds was, that's for sure. I mean, I'm all for being faithful to the book, but they had taken so many liberties with it up till that point they could have at least given it a more climatic ending.
