The G.I. Jerk song is kinda catchy.  With the exception of Duke, the voices are horrible.  I recorded it this past Saturday because I was curious about it and lost interest when, like many imports, a kid was brought in.  Who da fuck is that and what does he have to do with G.I. Joe?  And why did they make Scarlet skip puberty?  The Joe women were hot because they were all mature and shit.

Xiaolin Shitdown, I mean Showdown, is the little show that couldn't.  Meaning that it could've been better, but it's not and I have a feeling it never will be.  I found two or three episodes that were actually watchable, but have yet to find anymore.  I can't believe such a blah franchise has more than thirteen episodes.

I really want to like TMNT, but I find a huge amount of that show is hit or miss.  Certain storylines and arcs interest me and other episodes just make me change the channel.

The Batman is okay.  Not total garbage.  If it were sandwiched between two shows I really liked, I'd probably watch it.  As is, I only watch when Catwoman or Batgirl appear.  I don't particularly care for it.

I see 4Kids is nuturing a girls cartoon revival, but instead of cool stuff like Jem, She-ra, Beverly Hills Teens, and Maxie's World we have anorexic fairies, Mew Mews, and Bratz.  The Mews I can sorta live with, but it's certainly nothing I wouldn't hesitate sleep in on.  I've admitedly watched some of Winx Club, but as far as I'm concerned, there's no more story to tell.  Bratz is just UGH.

Coconut Bitch, I'm not even giving a chance.  Nigga please.  Pokemon, why the fuck won't you die?  Johnny Test?  What?  Sonic X has me a little bored now and so does Shaman King.  One Piece is meh.  Yu-Gi-Oh is still running on fumes, considering since Marik left, the damn thing's been on filler mode.  And we all know the superior quality of anime filler.  As for Jetix.... hahahaha.  W.I.T.C.H.... what a joke.  Nick needs to hurry up on new episodes of Avatar.  Now THAT would definetely brighten up my morning.

SwatKats?
The Trembley brothers who created Swatkats were actually the ones (at least partially) responsible for the first Loonatics designs.  Look at them again and they definetely evoke Razor and T-Bone.  But really, I'm pretty sure no visuals of any kind could've saved this show.  Especially since they apparently ripped off people-designs from What's New Scooby-Doo (already dreck in it's own right) and backgrounds from Teen Titans (also dreck) and Batman Beyond.

I do, vaguely. Roughneck Chronicles was better.

You should only remember it vaguely...I don't even know if the Cartoon ever aired, and the toys only lasted one wave on the pegs and then where clearaned where they sat for the years. That line came out in 96 and when I was working at KB Toys in 98 they were still there on the pegs.

I like THE BATMAN alot...I didn't think I would having grown up on BTAS and seeing the radical redesgin they used, but I ended up liking it despite myself. I espeically liked the Joker....course to me the Joker is the best supervillian there ever was, is, or ever will be. I've found myself going out of my way to catch The Batman, but more times then not I miss it.

The Batman is *alright* in my book--however I don't like how they phone-in the villian's origins and motives.  Mr. Freeze's was especially bad...  Anyway, the voice work is decent, but there's nothing really dynamic enough about it...  The really sad thing is that if it came out 5-6 years ago, it would have been considered bad by cartoon standards, whereas right now it's one of the only shows out there even trying...  Boo-urns.

I was majorly dissapointed with Mister Freeze. From Brilliant, Angst Ridden professor to Two Bit Mutant thug.  From what I read of the Clayface Two Parter, that seemed like the most interesting Villian debut. I haven't seen all of The Batman, but they do seem to be hinting around about Joker's origin...Jack Napier.

I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be right.

Loonatics certainly was pretty sucktastic. The two characters even remotely like their former counterparts was Duck and Taz. And Taz is the only good character as he NEVER SPEAKS.

I admit the only thing I watch at all is One Piece and occasionally Yugioh, but I stopped watching Yugi regularly after the whole "Darts/Leviathan" crap. One Piece is ok, but I don't see why people dig it so much. I hope Luffie is less of a dumbass in the japanese version.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

The thing about One Piece is that the original manga is excellent (though I can't speak for the official English language edition as I've never read it), the anime is not quite as good (awful filler episodes and inconsistent animation quality later in the series), and from what I've seen of it the English dub is an absolute abomination. I can totally understand how someone seeing it for the first time on Fox would wonder why so many people are in love with One Piece; 4Kids totally annihilated it.

The commercials alone already make me want to hate Johnny Test.  I've never seen the actual show, just the promos with the snot-nosed little punk going "Wow.  Cool!"  There's nothing worse than characters having to tell the audience when something's suppose to be cool.  If it's cool, the audience should already know and thusly it should go unsaid.  If you have to tell them it's cool, it's probably lame.

And Toonami, I feel the need to mention I can't even sit through that anymore.  JLU is the only watchable show but because I don't watch other things on the block like I used to, I miss it nearly all the time.  I don't even know what they show on most of Miguzi anymore.  I got tired of the damn Teen Titans invading every damn block.  It's just as well.  I watch too much TV anyway.  I guess it's a blessing in disguise that the new crop of televised cartoons amount to shit.

Just WHAT is that about?  I don't know what to make of that.  And Naruto is horrible.  That guy only showing off one eye is kinda neat though.  May watch it just for him.  Naruto himself though... jeez, he needs to meet a guillotine or something.

I've pretty much given up on Saturday AM for so many reasons cited above.  Besides, Wings of the Luftwaffe is on Military Channel during Loonatics.  :P

Finally got around to watching disc one of Gilgamesh - I guess I'll keep going.     What is with most of the "mature theme" animes and the non-existent color scheme? It's all grey cats on grey fences during cloudy days.    I want a VHD:Bloodlust tapestry color riot once in a while!

What's with anime that are longer than 26 episodes being filled with horrible filler shit and becoming boring after a while? The japanese have no problem making short series but anything longer starts to reek of suck. DBZ, Inu Yasha, Naruto, One Piece. Bleach is starting to get long, I have a feeling it will catch teh AIDS soon too. :(

That's why you stick to manga.
10,000 steps down, round and round. One night on the town and I'm hellbound ... Black oceans beneath, come and swallow me. My little tower, seal my fate. Help me pay back, end their hate. Black oceans beneath, come and swallow me

I don't think it's that they're over 26 episodes, it's that they're over a hundred.  I don't think most concepts, no matter how cool or innovative or entertaining they are, can really surivive far past 100 episodes.  They should just save money, skip filler, and wait for the manga to catch up.

It also drives me nuts when anime has massive plotholes or questions that are not answered or wrapped up in the end. Or the ending is confusing as hell and really screwed up. This happens quite a lot in anime btw, I guess they expect you to figure out shit by yourself.

After seeing the end of Paranoia Agent, I understand most of it, but I still don't know what Slugger and the black ooze was from. Was everyone having a mass mutual hallucination of a black sludge destroying the city because of something affecting their heads, like LSD being dumped in the city's water? Or was slugger some kind of virus or mutant or shapeshifter or alien that feeds off human suffering and pain and manifests itself as whatever you fear the most?

I like the second idea but have a feeling it's the first.

I don't mind the occassional question or two left open-ended, or minor details that we can deduct for ourselves, but huge, stark gashed-open endings bother me.  PA was great until they made that cop go all crazy.  At first that was funny, but then when I realized that's where they were going with it, it just got old and tiresome.  Why does it have to be something completely out of this world?  People do crazy shit everyday.  Not a month goes by that we don't hear about some weird crime and think "holy shit, can that really happen".  Shonen Bat being a product of a childhood trauma wasn't so bad but that fucking ooze destroying the entire city?  Talk about being pulled from their ass.  PA copped out big time.  The episode with the ghosts that chatted on the internet though... that was pure fucking gold.  That was done right.  Even the one with the gossipy ladies... there were several good episodes and then.... it ended like *that*.  =\

It's what you folks get for watching shitty Cartoon Network.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
