Ok, I read Skwurl's post in the other thread.  I'll get on that when I can but I'm probably gonna drag my feet a bit here.  I hope this doesn't put a damper into anyone's Christmas plans of celebrating the birth of our lord at a nearly-dead message board.

I had about two hours of hair-pulling.  Your instructions were actually AWESOME and on point (thank you, thank you) but I forgot how to do a lot of shit.  I hadn't accessed my control panel in a long time so I had to figure that out and dig up my credentials.  Then I wasn't able to upload my zip through the host's uploader no matter how much I tried.  So I had to relearn how to use a FTP client because even though it's pretty damn simple, it's actually been years since I've used one.  And I kinda got a little high watching it upload my file for some reason.  Then it looked like I done broke everythang.  I had to try to find out what was fuckering things up because my old skin or whatever had extra files that I had to delete.  But all in all, minimal trouble compared to what it could've been.

The trick is always in reskinning. Particularly when you can't remember all the arcane BS required to make it do exactly to your liking. And you never find one already exactly to your liking. I've been trying to find a WordPress theme for a new site and its just maddening because, as assy as SMF is, WP is worse.
