The best way to describe this film is that it's a romp stomping, limb chopping, good time. Seriously, it is THE BEST comic book film I've ever seen... If you're wondering about the plot, it's basically about a corrupt police force and Senator who rule the city and the few people who strike back. An honest cop who's life is ruined just because he protected a girl from the rapist son of a Senator, a group of hookers at war with the mafia and a thug's tale of revenge. The stories are presented and all tie in, just like Pulp Fiction. The pacing of the film is perfect, there is not one moment where you are not completely interested in what's going on and Miller and Rodriguez do an excellent job of creating suspense, I was on the edge of my seat alot when I wasn't in shock of what I'd just seen.
I will warn you, it is the goriest mainstream film I've ever seen and it walks a few roads that even Troma won't tread. I counted seven castrations and more limbs came off than I can remember... Two guys are drowned in unflushed toilets and one man is "turned into a Pez Dispenser" as Dwight lightly puts it. They do a great job of fleshing out these characters and they're really unforgetable--you're gonna have to see this film to believe it.
