Well, a little backstory:
My grilfriend's dad worked for social security. I got my SS card when I was 14. By then, I didn't use my first name of Cynthia, so when he typed the app at work, neither did he. I didn't know any better; signed it, got my card under my middle name & last name, then added my married name on. When I got my driver's license, I had to take my birth certificate, so it's always read "Cynthia Meade ____" through single & married life with appropriate last names. Never any problem whatsoever until post-Patriot Act.
FF to HELL. I have to take time off & go back to DPS and the SS office twice and stand in line for hours because an "alert" was put on my license for a possible false identity, hassles at the bank because everything didn't match exactly.... :angry: Fortunately, my boss was cool about it & commented that with the way the state is run now, 10 guys from Abu Dhabi were probably signing up for flight lessons at Hempstead while DPS was busy freaking out about my name.
