Stupid Spielberg (sp?) was afarid of scaring kids. He felt guns had no place in a kids movie. I don't see the point in changing out the guns after the movie has been around for years.

I know why he changed it, I just don't understand why he thought that would change/help anything. They're police. Kids see police with guns on the street. Aside from that, it's an older movie--kids can somehow identify older movies--and they'd probably only be watching it with their parents who'd put it into context.

No, he's a hypocrite. He doesn't let his kids see it but he expects everyone else to let their kids see it so he can go and run laughing to the bank. That movie wasn't even that bad. It's wasn't anything like the god-awful Dinocroc where the main character's little brother gets eaten. I never saw that one coming.
