Ya know I'm sick of people bitching about companies that use sweatshop labor.  It isn't the company's fault that those fucking mongoloids treat each other like shit with no regard for human life.  As if not using their labor would mean that they would somehow become civilized and stop being devolved shit bags.

Wanna do something about it? Go over there and kill everyone in powet and set up shop like the GERRRDD DERRRRNN URRRSSSSUUURRVVVAAAAAAYYY!

I was reading some article about the Chinese labor used by Apple the other day.  Apparently it not only came down the cheapness of the labor but (1) the skill-level of the labor since we derp on math and science as well as (2) the near-instant speed at which the mass labor can be mobilized (although the Chinese manufacturers say they keep to regular shifts but whatever).

What? I didn't hear that it had anything to do with math or science.  They're using some kind of unsafe glass cleaner on the screens that releases fumes and is killing ling ling in before she hits 30.

But whose fault is that?

The fuckin GERRRRRDDDAAAARRRRNNNGG CHINNNERRRRMMMEEERNNN's that's whose.

The way I see it, if them kiddies aren't making iPhones in sweatshops they're prostituting themselves for dirty old tourists. Sweatshops are nasty, but it wasn't that long ago that we sent every man, woman and child into the coal mines or dangerously unsafe factory.
An economy has to start somewhere

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Ever hear of the Radium Girls?

If you're licking your paint brushes and painting your nails and teeth with glow in the dark paint you deserve everything you get.

Since I never buy anything from Apple, I don't have to feel guilty for using their crap products.
I can just use something else...
...that's also made in a sweat shop....
.... in Taiwan.....

Ever hear of the Radium Girls?

See, China today is much like the US was a hundred years ago. Wait a hundred years and the Chinese will have labor protections....

...and then we'll have all our shit made in Africa...
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Nah, you can have your shit made in Europe.
The way the EUSSR is going, we'll all be dead broke in a few years time.

Ever hear of the Radium Girls?

If you're licking your paint brushes and painting your nails and teeth with glow in the dark paint you deserve everything you get.

You must have missed a key point in the first paragraph:
Quote from: the first paragraph
The Radium Girls were female factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting watch dials with glow-in-the-dark paint at the United States Radium factory in Orange, New Jersey around 1917. The women, who had been told the paint was harmless, ingested deadly amounts of radium by licking their paintbrushes to sharpen them; some also painted their fingernails and teeth with the glowing substance.

They didn't know it was radioactive. Even if they did, it was 1917...radiation poisoning awareness wasn't even what it is today, which one hundred years removed is still pretty abysmal, given the amount of radiation people expose themselves to.

And it's not like the company didn't know it was dangerous:
Quote from: wiki excerpts
...the owners and the scientists [of U.S. Radium Corporation] familiar with the effects of radium carefully avoided any exposure to it themselves; chemists at the plant used lead screens, masks and tongs. US Radium had even distributed literature to the medical community describing the “injurious effects” of radium. The owners and scientists at US Radium, familiar with the real hazards of radioactivity, naturally took extensive precautions to protect themselves.

An estimated 4,000 workers were hired by corporations in the U.S. and Canada to paint watch faces with radium. They mixed glue, water and radium powder, and then used camel hair brushes to apply the glowing paint onto dials. ... The brushes would lose shape after a few strokes, so the U.S. Radium supervisors encouraged their workers to point the brushes with their lips, or use their tongues to keep them sharp. For fun, the Radium Girls painted their nails, teeth and faces with the deadly paint produced at the factory. Many of the workers became sick. It is unknown how many died from exposure to radiation.

Many of the women later began to suffer from anemia, bone fractures and necrosis of the jaw, a condition now known as radium jaw. It is thought that the X-ray machines used by the medical investigators may have contributed to some of the sickened workers' ill-health by subjecting them to additional radiation. It turned out at least one of the examinations was a ruse, part of a campaign of disinformation started by the defense contractor. U.S. Radium and other watch-dial companies rejected claims that the afflicted workers were suffering from exposure to radium. For some time, doctors, dentists, and researchers complied with requests from the companies not to release their data. At the urging of the companies, worker deaths were attributed by medical professionals to other causes; syphilis, a notorious sexually transmitted disease at the time, was often cited in attempts to smear the reputations of the women.
