Can the law keep mothers from having children?

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/01/05/children...g.ap/index.html

Quote
ROCHESTER, New York (AP) -- A Family Court judge who last year stirred debate about parental responsibilities ordered a second drug-addicted woman to have no more children until she proves she can look after the seven she already has.

The 31-year-old mother, identified in court papers only as Judgette W., lost custody of her children, ranging in age from eight months to 12 years, in child-neglect hearings dating back to 2000. Six are in foster care at state expense and one lives with an aunt.

The youngest child and two others tested positive for cocaine at birth and all seven "were removed from her care and custody because she could not and did not take care of them," Judge Marilyn O'Connor said in a December 22 decision made public Tuesday.

Already the hardcore liberals are jumping all over this, saying that we're violating basic human rights.

To hell with human rights. I'm liberal and even I agree with the judge's ruling. If a parent can't even take care of her own kids, she shouldn't have any more. Tie her fucking tubes, and if Jessie Jackson throws a fit over it, shoot the nigga in the head.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

It's nice to know there's more than three strikes on how many lives you get to ruin.  Fuck that woman.  Tie her fallopians into a bow and let's call it a day.

I'm running the risk of pissing some people off here, but I'd have a lot more respect for pro-life groups if they worried more about kids like these who are already here and a little less about arbitrary clumps of cells.  <_<

Agreed. I may be a liberal douchebag, but after three, the woman should get tied.

Free vasectomies should be given out as well.  Hell, I only paid about twenty bucks to have my cat done.

It is a human rights violation to allow someone to willingly bring a life into being with the knowledge that that person will not have the ability or oppoortunity to lead a healthy life.

I believe that by ctreaing a life in bad judgement regarding the conditions of that life and its possible pursuit of happiness, is an infringement on the inherent freedoms deemed by the constitution.

Children should not be allowed to have children.  I don't care how old she is, the woman is a child.

Some people need their genitals kept in a jar for them until they're mature enough to make good use of them.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

God, I love how this judge is being compared to a Communist, tearing down people's freedoms.  I say being allowed to fuck up over half a dozen human beings, addicting some to drugs from birth, with little reprocussion, is beyond freedom.

Semi-related, a couple was on the Dr. Phil show and they had seven kids.  Dr. Phil told them, half-jokingly not to have any more kids.  Their response was they were only going for six but happened to have twins.  Six, seven, it's not that much of a difference.  To their credit, the kids weren't crack babies and even seemed to be polite.  But come on, don't bitch about not being able to take vacations or fit around the dining room table when there's freaken' nine of you.  I get annoyed with these breeder couples who talk about all of their woes when in fact they're doing a decent enough job, have no real money woes, and just want to score some prizes for not buying that box of condoms.  =\

I was called a communist once for not wanting kids.     A little more original that the usual demon-possessed, child-hater, selfish, cruel, evil, etc., but still didn't make any sense.

A giant gap like that makes more sense to me if you're gonna have a whole litter full.  A bunch of young sprouts together is too much mess and too much attention.  My mom originally wanted five, and I'm so glad she didn't.

Appending what I said about Phil, I think he really wanted to seriously tell them "Look, don't have any more kids" but knowing all of the moo-cows in the audience... well, I could tell some of them were offended that he even 'joked' about it.
