It was ok. The fight scenes could have been a little bit better. Ron Pearlman was the best thing in the whole movie.

I'm half way through it and I agree.

Wait so this is gonna be in theaters at the end of the month?

It's probably gonna bomb.

This is definitely a movie that drugs would enhance.

Yeah, it's gonna bomb but I don't think the makers of the this are expecting to make a lot of money. If anything this movie will get their names out there.

OH HELL YEAH

http://www.dailyblam.com/news/2011/09/14/ghostbusters-returning-to-theaters-this-october

As long as it is not in 3D and doesn't have some Special Edition style changes, then I'm there. Course they probably won't release it anywhere near me, so it will more then likely be moot.

Right now they're saying second half of 2012. This means DVD in late '12, early '13, which'll be the first opportunity for me.

Which I won't see if Murray is a ghost. That is the stupidest shit I've ever heard I think he just said it so they wouldn't bother going ahead with it.

Ghostbusters 3 is coming no matter what.

Murray as a ghost?  That's fine with me.  I heard that he may not be involved at all, in which case that's the deal breaker for me and I'll just stream it online.

I do agree it's fucking stupid but it's 100 times better than no involvement at all.

WAT. I thought they said first half of 2012.

Here's more info. I realize the teaser is off Youtube now, so let me know if you want to see the teaser and can't find it. I imagine they're going ahead with their plan to produce 3 & 4 simultaneously, which is a huge financial drain on them, particularly in the current economic environment.

Also don't even waste your time waiting for the dvd, just get a fan sub.

I was talking about the Japanese DVD. I'll download the fansub, of course, but I won't be watching camrips. I'll buy the U.S. release out of fanboyish support.

I think Murray is part owner of the GB Franchise or something along those lines. So no matter what he has to OK it. So I don't really get this whole he is ok if they make it but he doesn't want to do it. And then he also does stuff like show up at the Scream Awards in full out Ghostbusters gear and give people hope and then just turn around to refuse do the movie.

From what I read it seems like Akroyd has the OK to go ahead with it but is not sure Murray is going to be a part of the actual project.

I'd have a hard time reconciling the current Harold Ramis with the character of Egon.

I mean, they're obviously all old and fat now, with maybe the exception of Ernie Hudson, but Egon is supposed to be tall and skinny, and Harold Ramis is really fat.

Thanks for the link. THe info I got I got it directly from the japanese webpage http://evangelion.co.jp/

but alas, I rthink you are right.
I saw the teaser before, I dont remember if they were the same scenes shown at the end of the credits in the 2.0? it looks pretty good imo. I just hope they don't change the "ending" since I think it was perfect

Ghostbusters is nothing without Bill Murray.  If he can't be involved, they might as well just not make the movie.

I do not agree that it is nothing without Bill Murray. I thought the rest of the cast had quite a few strengths.

I will, however agree, that they might as well not make it because it's just not going to be as good.

I would say Peter Venkman is the protagonist in Ghostbusters. Yes, they're a team, but Peter is the guy. And Bill Murray is Peter Venkman.

Garfield may have sucked but Bill Murray didn't suck in Garfield.

Wasn't it a kids movie anyway?

I only saw it once and that was a long time ago.
