Yeah, it's easy to forget how much further east South America is than North America. You could travel due south from Chicago and completely miss it.

Yeah, that's what I did.I knew their west coast was further east then ours, but for it to be that far east seems crazy. But sure enough it is.

Lima is in EST. Havent oyu noticed? when you are going to choose your time in some sign in page they say EST: new york, lima, quito, etc

Yeah, but technically it is not. It is in PET. If a change happens to EST it does not necessarily happen to PET, because technically they are different according to the standards.
