You'd think since this my favorite holiday I'd have done something fun, but I didn't really. Other then watching of RHPS. I keep saying I'm going to dress up every year, and then every year time gets away from me and the day is here and I didn't do it. Same thing this year.

Me and Kary were busy watching the Patriots gain first place in the NFL... and apparently so were the trick or treaters. We had like 12.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

Went to church.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I just dressed up as a bare knuckle fighter, went and bought a case of Dos Equis, then watched Scott Pilgrim with my brother. Pretty lame.
Did anyone else watch the Walking Dead on AMC? Looks like it's going to be a great series.
I like how the first episode takes place outside Atlanta, it reminds me of home, if it was infested by zombies.

No, poo on you.  Anyway, anyone who'd take a kid trick or treating in this neighborhood doesn't deserve any candy.

I would have SOOO taken Lilli out to trick or treat just so I'd get the delicious candy but alas, they don't do that in glorious Nippon :-( They do decorate the stores though

I wonder why Japan didn't adopt Halloween.  Is it the idea of going door-to-door that doesn't sit well?

I don't know, maybe it's "too western" for them.

I mean, because I could see Japanese people being totally on-board with the costume and candy aspects.  And the scaring part, too.  But going door to door demanding treats or else kind of seems "forward" for that culture.

Except they probably call them colonialists or something, since cows are Grandpa to them.

I went to an anime convention over the weekend, and a causal (no costume needed) "party" sunday night.

The con was awesome despite the fact I work midnights, couldn't get ALL my shift off, and had to stay awake during the con by taking narcolepsy pills and tons of 5-hour energy.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I hope you enjoyed that 5-Hour Energy, since those things are about to be banned.

Here is me and my friend Bryan, who was Dexter, the lovable serial killer.

The mask was pieced together using a pair of knit caps sewn together, with the top on one opened up along the seam to create a neck opening.  A glove made a perfect set of mouth tentacles.  Holes were cut to see through (buttonhole stitched to keep the knit fabric from fraying/unravelling).  Ping pong balls with about 30% cut off and with holes added for visibility (and to create pupils) finished things off.

The claw is articulated and fairly complex.  I used my papercraft skills to shape the base out of cardboard.  My original plan was paint it, so I then added a few layers of papier mache to smooth things out and have a white base instead of brown for painting.  When I couldn't find paint to match the mask, I decided to cover it in fabric.  Unfortunately, I ran out of time and could only make one claw.  I just went with the story that the other one had gotten caught in a dumpster and hadn't grown back yet.

Oh, and you can't see it, but I found perfect pink slippers that looked like Zoidberg's feet in sandals.  So, uh, now I have pink slippers to wear around the apartment.

Yeah, we kind of need to see those slippers ... and find out where you found them.

EDIT: How rude of me not to tell you that is in fact an awesome costume.
