I started and finished a game of Super Mario Bros. 2 last night. It's funny how I still know exactly where to go and what to do (nailed the warps), and it's been probably 15 years since I last played it.

Especially when you have Luigi flapping his feet the way he does when he jumps. No wonder he has the best airtime of the four player options.

Minish Cap on Wii U. Actually in my top 5 Zeldas.
Fuck you. Just... fuck you. Minish is the ultimate garbage of modern Zelda. Fuck you.

Not really. I mean, don't actually go fuck yourself or anything. I just think Minish is trash beyond trash.

Not playing it but watched vids that were doing a walkthrough of Child of Light.  I like what the game was attempting.  I don't really feel like they quite pulled it off.  For one thing, the game's wrist-slittingly dreary pallete-wise.  The characters (good guys) probably could've been cuter looking.  Most of them looked like they belonged on the island of lost toys.  And the narration's a bit too much.  But certainly an A for effort at least.

I've never hopped the crowdfunding train, but I'm tempted to back this:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chevyray/ikenfell

I just really like the way it looks. Pretty apprehensive about video game kickstarters at this point, however. They typically don't end well.

Something about the sprite art looks... off.  The sprites seem kinda sloppy.

I've been replaying Super Mario World. I'm to the Forest of Illusion and already have opened up all of Star World (but not the Special Zone).

Fuck to the no. I live in a rural area comfortably outside of the main township, though, so I am tempted to see what I might find out in the bush here. Or maybe that's not how it works. The very limited GPS data of my immediate area would more likely yield next to nothing.

All moot, because my phone battery is shot, and pretty much the moment I unplug it from the wall and try to do anything, it dies.

Also, my phone is super old and would probably run the app like shit, as from what I understand the game is poorly optimized and runs like shit for a lot of people anyway.

My phone isn't super old but it's cheap.  An inexpensive prepaid one functional enough for what I use it for but not enough so I could run Go on it.  I'd play if I had a better phone, but I'm not paying more for a phone just to play a game on it.

People would do that, though. People have totally done that.

"Pokemon Go runs like crap on my phone! Time for an upgrade!"

"Pokemon Go still runs like crap on my new phone!"

Etc.

I just sort-of finished my first play-through of Super Mario World in  at least fifteen years. I got 95 goals. There are 96. When I was a strapping young buck in my game-playing prime I would purposefully go back and replay every level multiple times until I found that elusive goal. Now, I'm all like:

It turns out the 96th goal was to not waste your time.  It was a test, yo!

People would do that, though. People have totally done that.

"Pokemon Go runs like crap on my phone! Time for an upgrade!"

"Pokemon Go still runs like crap on my new phone!"

Etc.

Ha ha, I know, but I'm not in the income bracket to make that happen.  I'm just happy to have a phone that I can actually surf the internet with now instead of the hot mess I had two years ago that displayed websites as if I were viewing them from the 1990's.

I tried to download Pokemon Go just because I was curious and people kept asking me what it was (Because I'm younger then them I'm suppose to know, even though I was too old for the FIRST Pokemon invasion, but whateves.) just so I'd have a visual aid and my phone won't work with it. I'm running too old a version of Android.

But my Phone has been giving me problems and has stopped charging from the USB port, so I'm looking for a new one...and if it is running a new enough Android I might give it a look see. If not, Oh well.

I was looking through some threads about SMW after my pronouncement that I was dropping it on the 95th level. I read someone say that many people miss the Forest of Illusion Ghost House has two exits. So, since it was easy to chell, I decided to run through it a couple times just in case.

So, yup, it was the 96th goal I was missing.

Well I got a new phone (not because of Pokemon go, but because my old one would lock up 6-7 times a day) and Pokemon Go works on it and it is an addicting game, but also one that you will get fed up with real quick. After about the first week of playing you will have caught most of the Pokemon that you will now be seeing like 90% of time. If your dream is to say catch your favorite pokemon and then evolve him and train him up....well tough shit asshole! Because you like never find them and you have to find a shit ton of that pokemon to make that happen. So be happy with your starter Chamader because that's all it is ever gonna be.

It also really sucks to live in a rural area. You have to go to pokestops (places like churches, watertowers, graveyard for some morbid reason) to get more shit that you run out of playing the game. Well all the pokestops I have to drive to because there are none near me. And no pokemon either. If I open my nearby pokemon list in my house nothing shows up.....EVER.

Also this is a game for kids and people with no lives. I know this because you can't have a real life and get ahead in the game. Let me site an example. One of goals of the game is to take and hold gyms for your team. I never tried this because the lowest pokemon in most gyms was still twice as powerful as my highest pokemon. But when I was stopping at one of those pokestops that I have to drive to, I noticed a Gym near by with someone I could actually beat it....so I did.

But while I was fighting a big lifted truck pulled in to the quick stop across the street and parked facing the gym and the people inside just stared at me. Strange, but I was getting ready to leave anyway. So I win my fight and put my guy in the gym. No sooner had I done this then my guy got kicked out. So I sent my next guy in and won it back and the same thing happened again. So by now I know what the people in the truck are doing. So I send in another guy and another until I was down to just my shit guys...so I gave up. I got back in my car and these people sat there and made sure I was leaving and then, and only then, did they turn around and leave themselves. I was also told by a friend who does live near the pokestop (as they know this person well) that they circled a few more times after I left, just to make sure I was doubling back. So they saw me attacking the gym and it was so important that they jumped into their car and drove down there to take it back. I don't have time for that kinda bullshit. I got a 40 hour a week job and other stuff to do...I can't sit on my ass, collect gov. cheese and make sure no one takes away my Gym all day. That's crazy.

And let's not get started on the people that sit at home with fake GPS and take gyms and pokemon from the comfort of their couch.

HAHA, omg.  Defending that gym though.  From most people I hear from, they never get to keep the gym they win.  It does seem like it would be really fun for travelers.  Like people who have to travel across the country for work or something.

It kinda is. I was on vacation when I got the game to work and I was fun to run around places and see what they had and where the pokestops where.

A follow up to my pokemon Go story above.

So the friend I told you about that does live near the pokestop in question. He knows this woman the same way I know her, she has no life and comes running when you take the gym. So I guess he took the gym away from her again (something he does often He has told me.) and she actually confronted him and yelled at him to stop taking her gym while he was walking his dog.

Yeah this lady is cra-cra. I worry she might have a gun in a gun rack in that lifted truck of hers that she might think is a good idea to break out and use on people that take "her" gym.

Hahaha...

Don't you love it when a shared love of gaming brings people together?

Holy shit.

I'm playing No Man's Sky. Seems fun so far, but I could see it getting stale in a hurry. I need a better ship so I can try out the starfighting. Mine's a piece of junk right now.

"Git way from muh gym!" *cocks shotgun*

^ It's the "git offa muh lawn" for this century.  You should publish the location of the gym on multiple Pokemon boards and then watch her go nuts.
