I got a Dolce & Gabanna skirt for $30 because some bint couldn't bestir herself to replace the button. Considering D&G fall collection suits are usually about $2100, I don't care who wore it. I love resale shops. There are a number of upscale ones that exclusively handle designer merchandise, but my favorite is the one I mentioned staffed by the Junior League (socialites in training) volunteers. It's kind of a contest amongst our Ladies Who Lunch to see who can make the most extravagant donations because that says that their husbands had a successful business year and certainly don't need LAST SEASON'S YSL collection cluttering up their dressing suites. And when the hot fill-in-the-blank celebrity of the moment says "vintage" on the red carpet, she ain't saying "pret-a-porter" - she's saying USED.

It's not just evening dresses and luncheon suits that are only worn once. Our chairman has a good friend who is so wealthy that he takes a custom-tailored dress shirt out of the package every morning and never wears it again. No lie. :rolleyes:
