I didn't realize it was back this week. I'll go watch it, and when I come back, I'll be all, "Yo, Beck! This is what I thought of the episode, girl!"

Then I'll tell you.

I did, too. If you hated the Berbils from before, I imagine you still will.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

If you honestly hated the berbils you were too old to be watching the original.

They shouldn't be your favorite characters but you shouldn't have nuri syndrome at that age it's not biologically possible.

I'm almost done with the ep.  It was adorable anyone who doesn't like it probably doesn't like animals and is a piece of crap.

I was more indifferent to them. I always hated listening to them speak, though it seems to not be as bad this time around. They may use the same technique on the modulation, so I attribute that to the standard higher quality voicing.

I don't remember the original berbil episode that well.  I'd have to watch it again to compare.  I like the design, sound, and character of these berbils though.  The kittens eating all that sugar was a good piece of business too.  There's an animated .gif to be pulled out of there somewhere.

These Berbs aren't terrible. Not a bad episode.

Still, I would prefer actual progress to these goofy, lighthearted sidequests.

Next week's ep is called "Sight Before Sight".  Maybe it'll get back on track again?  Unless it's some shit like Lion-O meets a vision-impaired mole and helps him find his missing glasses.

I watched tonight's episode and really liked it. They fleshed out Tygra a bit there and I'm starting to like him better. Not only did Lion-O steal a throne that he thought should have been his, he is also taking away the woman he loves. There was also a lot of action with all the Thundercats and a return of Grune and Mumm-Ra kinda.

Still don't know why I had to sit through three boring ass "Lion-O thinks he knows, but doesn't and learns something" shit episodes to get to this...why don't they just do this? Ah well...I got CN, and I need something to watch around 10:30 on Friday. (I watch it on  CN west since I'm hardly ever home during the showing on East.)

"Lion-O thinks he knows but doesn't..." was theme of nearly the entire 80s version.

And you have all these people bitching about plot but claiming to be fans of the 80s version on fb.  Fuckin ridiculous.

No, it's not.  This show tried to pass itself off as Avatar:TLA meets Thundercats with a dash of Miyazaki and it's not.  It's shallow and that's disappointing because the first two eps promised something more epic that myself and many others really wanted to see.  Yes, you're right about the theme of the entire 80's version but if anyone wanted that, the old series is already out on DVD.  So screw seeing new crap doing that.

I was expecting more from this thing...and in some ways it does show that. The problem is that is padded as hell between those times. So padded that it is hard to sit through that crap to get to the good stuff. I don't mind if Lion-O learns a lesson along the way, but it gets redundant when it is the entire story three fucking weeks in a row.

Here we are again with you thinking this show is solely for adults.  This is a reboot, some fatties and basement dwellers will watch it, but mainly it's for the kids.  They aren't banking on selling toys solely to people that resemble the simpsons comic book store owner.  Kids today haven't seen the old one so doing it again with some 80s style is staying true to the formula.  Basically that "anyone who wanted that" equals the kids of today.

And that is why yes it is ridiculous to claim to be a fan of the original and then basically bitch about the show being too much like the original.

Argue past that logic! You've already admitted that was the theme of the 80s show and that's what's going on here!

I WIN!

I WIN THIS INTERNET ARGUMENT!

I did not say this show is solely for adults nor did I think that for a minute.  Avatar:TLA and most Miyazaki shit is for kids.  Gargoyles and the Justice League were kids' shows, too.  Kids can have epic shit and this crap ain't it.  Just admit this show is kinda balls and move on.

Not until you make out with me!

Is the show top tier all it could have been? No.  While that may make it kind of balls for adults.  I think it's still more than adequate for kids.  You'd probably call G1 transformers complete balls now, but to a child it was the greatest thing on television.

I'd actually say it's adequate for kids w/o "more than".  Pretty-looking, passable, similar enough to the source material to not make any waves.  They'll watch it with their friends while eating Cheetos and texting.  And that's it.

And as a child, I never thought of anything as "the greatest thing on television".  In fact, it was a pretty binary system of "like/dislike" until I was about "adult price at the movies".  Just putting that out there.

Come on, Beck. You gotta give this show at least a season or two before you're ready to pass judgment on it.

Yeh jist gots ta!

Grune's impotent threats of violence in this past episode were pretty amusing.

"Grr! You better give me what I want or you're gonna get hurt! Don't believe me? Ooh, just you wait and see! I'ma do it! I'ma do it! For real this time!"

Kinda lost some of his badass villain cred there, I thought.

Mumm-Ra this week. Whoop-whoop!

Transformers comes on Teletoon Retro all the time. I try sitting through an episode every now and then, and man, it is rough. The animation, especially. Dear God, the "animation".

Old ThunderCats eps, on the other hand, are usually pretty entertaining, and generally well-drawn.
