Well about 3/4 way through this and if they keep it up like this I will be watching this every week. There are some things I don't really like, but on the whole it is pretty good. It is real pretty to look at, and it is pretty good story wise, if not a little cliche.

I just think he's generic. He is like some everyday anime hero character that you could place in any old fuckin' game or show: the quirky, not-quite-outsider destined for greatness. I don't like his character design and I don't like his voice. Neither one is helping him. Nothing about this character feels special or different, which is what I would've liked from him.

I don't like how Panthro looks like freakin' Jet Black. That shit looks awful. I would have liked him to have a fresh, youthful look like everyone else. Even Snarf got a face-lift but they just grossified Panthro. And Kevin Michael Richardson. Blech. Not looking forward to that.

I don't care about Panthro's age, but his appearance isn't great. In the old show he was obviously black, but now he's just as racially neutral as everyone else. And the mutton chops are pretty dumb.

i'm still not sold on the character designs either. The producers have said the Lion-O's look will change as he gets more powerful. Hope his voice changes too. Panthero's look doesn't bother but I am a little sick of the bald "black guy" with side burns look. Kevin Michael Richardson doing the same voice me is a crime. I do think Cheetatra's character design is much better than the original.

It's funny how the main Thundercats( Lion-o, Tygra, Cheetara, Panthero and The twins) look more humanoid while the other Thundarians look more like cats.

Yeah, but, anyway, I like the show so far.

Jaga's Clerics are baddass! I'm guessing that's how they are gonna explain Cheetara's sixth sense.

My only gripe actor wise is the guy who played the King. He sucked, and he was the original Lion-O so this one is obviously superior. I was exstatic when he died.

There is nothing new under the sun. Archetypes are re used there was never any other choice for Lion-O. He is that archetype. What were they gonna do make him all dark and batman? That would have just been another archetype. I guess you just don't like this archetype but it's been in use forever and it's not going anywhere. It gets its time to shine when it is the key to defeating the big bad and it anchors the scene so that other more quirky archetypes like Tygra...whatever you know all this.

The point is that his archetype serves a purpose in storytelling.

Firstly, I want to establish that I just find him the weakest part of the show. This does not mean that I want him to be "dark or batman". This does not mean I "just don't like" some archetype. This doesn't mean I hate his character or anything. This means in a show full of goodness, he does not shine and he's the hero and the lead character so more was expected from him by me. Something as little as a different voice actor or a different look or a tweaking of the script could have completely altered my interpretation of him. As it is, I find him dull and uninteresting. For comparison's sake, Wily Kat and Wily Kit were on the screen for ten seconds and completely won me over. Same with Cheetara, Jaga, and Tygra. There's nothing new about any of those types of characters either so I don't buy the "nothing new" excuse.

What kind of accent is one of those lizards using? If you have the episode, go about 12 minutes in. lol "Hold your tongue, fool. They'll kill us!"

I don't know...I don't like Tygra as much as the old one. He was an architect that sometimes had a drug problem in the original series, now he is just Lion-O's older douche womanizer brother. I half expected him to dunk Lion-O's head in the litterbox, or depants him in front of the court.

And did they say Tygra was Lion-O's adopted brother at some point I missed. I guessed he was, since they said that the King ship had to go by blood and you know...he isn't a lion, but did they ever say it in the show?

I don't get how a different actor or slight tweak to how he looked would make him shine, I guess that's a chick thing.

I don't find him dull or interesting persay he's a perfect example of the archetype, granted at this stage in pretty much any story that character isn't very interesting.

Those other archetypes are inherently more interesting so you should still buy the nothing new excuse!
