Abortion won't go away, it's been around since the dawn of man, and banning 'clean' abortions means women getting in great risk. If they are going to hell, we can't stop them. Banning it won't stop abortion.

What the fuck did Sam mean when he said not to use the "people are going to do it anyway" arguement? Why should we not? :unsure: It's the primary reason that abortion is not a debatable issue. It's not like gun control, or artistic liscense and the restriction thereof....... abortion is an issue upon which one decides to be correct or incorrect.

I'm not picking on Sam or anyone against abortion. I still go back to my original question from weeks ago - what are those against abortion doing to assist unwanted children other than making sure they get here? Maybe part of why I'm pro-choice is that I don't feel that I have the right to roll the dice with another human being's quality of life. Is a bad life better than a pre-existence death, which I also consider giving the soul passage back to its maker? I don't think so, and THAT is the basis for my stance.

Personally, I think everyone who protests outside a clinic should be leaving with an "unadoptable" (i.e., crack, AIDS, special needs, or untrendy minority) baby to raise.

If anything, banning abortion would bring back the Age of Coathanger. Not to mention that even if abortion is outlawed, the rich will always be able to afford those "European ski vacations" whenever their daughters have an "accident".

While I can at least respect the anti-abortion stance because of it being a form of murder (that in itself being a subject of debate), how does that explain the anti-birth control stance that seems to be echoed out there with it some of the time? What about all of those stories posted on the Brats board I've read about women going through heck to be sterilized? Not to have an abortion but to be STERILIZED. And how are eggs and sperm any less valuable that their output, a cluster of cells? Should ovaries and testicles get rights, too? What about the morning-after pill? How come people bother becoming pharmacists and then feel they have the right to deny other people medication? What about orphanages and the whole "not in my neighborhood" stance?

I think it's far too easy to say "No abortion!" I personally would feel horrible about killing something in my own body (even if I do view pregnancy as having a parasite) but that's me. I shouldn't have a say over other women's bodies and neither should anyone else.
