TMNT sold to Nickelodeon.
« on: Oct 28, 2009, 10:50:43 AM »
Nickelodeon Acquires Global Rights to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I have mixed feelings about this.  On one hand, Nick brought us Avatar.  On the other, it brought us Wolverine and the X-Men.  Hmmm.....  They want to do a CG animated series.  Ugh, no.  The movie was all right, but it's nothing I have the urge to ever see again.  2-D animated turtles are where it's at.  Why does everything have to be CG'd these days?  It just gives everything a boxy cheap-ass look.

Also: Peter Laird's blog, where he's done a few entries about the whole thing.

And since I read about it at Powet first while catching up on old news, obligatory link.

Nickelodeon had no part of that horrid show. It was Marvel trying to reboot X-Men Evolution without having to pay for it like last time.

You know what they should bring back?

I forgot what it was called. New Mutants? Live action drama.

Meh, they still air it so it's guilt by association.  Otherwise, I concede that point to you, Sir Tom.

They air the first 3 episodes every week. I've yet to see a new one in months. Also, they don't even put it on demand.

Since I don't have that channel, I was planning on seeing it on DVDs.  I gave up after the second one.  7 eps released between January to October.  How sluggish.  It'd be different if this series was epic enough that a fews eps could hold one over, but it's subpar.

It gets better, and I enjoy the Wolverine-less parts. I hate what they did to Cyclops. The release would have been maybe acceptable had they not been almost finished airing season 2 elsewhere in the world.

Guess he wasn't happy with just ruining Transfromers.

on an OT note, about the OT note. I saw a TMNT reissue Turtle van at TRU Friday and almost bought it. I wanted that thing so bad when I a kid and finally got one for Christmas. I sold mine a few years back on eBay.

It might be time for TMNT to go away. I got the 4 Kids show on DVD and NECA comicbook style toys. So i'm good for a while.

Yeah, it needs to go into deep stasis... at least until the premature death of Michael Bay.  I'm still pissed off that we never got that TMNT 2003 series Season 3 release.  The rest of Season 4 I could do without, but I wanted 3 at least.

All I remember about Pete and Pete was the dancing girl tattoo the younger Pete had.

Well I prove you wrong with a simple web search and then move on with the rest of my day.

"Petunia, A tattoo on Little Pete's left forearm depicting a woman in a red dress. It is frequently made to "dance" and gets its own credit in the show's opening sequence; the origins of that tattoo, and one of a sailing ship on Little Pete's back, are unclear."

I see a lot of talk but no pic. You know the rule.

Also, I do remember the ship on his back

From now on you have to prove me wrong, rather then expecting me to prove I'm right.

You should really give more, but I understand you probably do not want to wait an hour just to do that.

Because the system won't let you give or take more then one pellet per hour. It stops someone from cleaning out all your pellets 5 mins after you call their mother a whore.
