When I heard Kanye "Asshole" West was going to be on it, I made the executive decision to disavow this show until further notice.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I would, but I watch good shows at 10, like Sons of Anarchy, Top Chef, and It's Always Sunny. Tonight, Lil' Jimmy Norton premieres.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;

My understanding is that Leno bitch slapped him about the VMAs.
Get a little closer let it fold
Cut open my sternum and pull
My little ribs around you

I saw part of it tonight.  Jay's jokes are strong as usual but that Uninvited Guest guy was kinda weak.  Then it was Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.  I'd rather not look at the latter if I don't have to, she's irritating.  Tom Cruise, I like in his movies.  IRL Tom, I'll pass on.  I changed the channel after that and never bothered putting it back.

Isn't it basically đe Tonight Show, but an hour and a half earlier?

It seems like he does stuff like Jaywalking and Headlines at the end of the show.  Whenever I'd watch TNS, I'd usually watch the first half hour or so and then change the channel because I didn't care about the guests.  Now I have to change it earlier because it's a looser format.  Therefore, I declare it inferior to TNS.

Forget that - Headlines was the only reason I watched.

Yeah, I didn't want to wait until the end and I don't regularly watch news at 10:00 on that channel, so screw catching the last few minutes.  I'd probably be watching or doing something else anyway.

I saw part of Leno again today.  Holy crap, Jay's monologues are comic sweetness but then he's got to stuff the show full of boring guests and stupid skits.  He had some Jaywalk All-Stars thing with three of the Real Housewives from Orange County.  Never mind they weren't on the street so I don't know how it's "Jaywalk" but it was staged and TERRIBLY.  These chicks are housewives and not actresses for a reason.  It was so painful I had to change the channel.  (Also, one really fucked up her face in terms of plastic surgery.  What a monster to look at.)

Jay doesn't have much in terms of real guests.  It's like he begged all of his celebrity friends to cameo on the show thus the desperation oozes through the tv.  Jay should bring in stand-up comics to perform a few minutes and have a musical guest or two play for the show.  Or his show could also devote segments to NBC bloopers (from all of the other shows).  Do SOMETHING with that hour instead of fingering your ass, Jay!

I think guests are getting paid something like nothing to appear.

And now it's dead: [Bolding mine.]

Quote from: From Hollywood Insider
NBC confirms 'Jay Leno Show' leaving primetime
by Michael Ausiello

Raise your hand if you’re surprised by what you’re about to read. NBC Chairman Jeff Gaspin kicked off his network’s portion of the TCA press tour by confirming the worst kept secret in the TV biz: “I can confirm, starting Feb. 12, The Jay Leno Show will no longer air at 10 p.m.”

Gaspin said that, “While [Leno] was performing at acceptable levels for the network, it did not meet our affiliates’ needs, and we realized we had to make a change. My goal right now is to keep Jay, Conan [O'Brien], and Jimmy [Fallon] as part of our late-night lineup. I have spoken to all of them and proposed that The Jay Leno Show move to 11:35, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien to 12:05, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon would then start at 1:05.

“As much as I’d like to tell you we have a done deal, that’s not true,” he added. “The talks are ongoing. [But] I hope and expect, before the Olympics begin, we will have everything set. I can’t imagine we won’t.”

Though there’s been no official word yet from Jay, Conan, or Jimmy, Gaspin called the trio “gracious,” adding that they “understood the difficult position” NBC is in. And Carson Daly? Gaspin insists he’ll “remain a part of NBC.” Last Call, however, sounds like it’s dead.

So what goes on at 10 now? NBC prez Angela Bromstad said, “We have absolutely dedicated our resources to fortifying and building up our development slate.” Translation: Leno’s very temporary weeknight home will soon be filled by two more hours of scripted content, an hour of reality, an expanded Dateline, and some repeats. “We’re not going to do five new dramas at 10 p.m.,” Gaspin promised.

In spite of hindsight being 20/20, Gaspin still sees the Leno debacle as a calculated risk and the kind of gamble that he might take again. “I don’t think it’s wrong to take chances,” he said. “Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Maybe we were a little too early on [in reinventing the 10 p.m. hour]. I still think you have to play with your schedule a little bit differently…

“By the fall,” he added, “you may see us do some interesting stuff with the schedule.”

Does the promise of “some interesting stuff” scare or excite you? And what do you think “some interesting stuff” means to the guy who uprooted a late-night mainstay to prime time? Sound off below.

1. On the replacement programming, just EW.
2. to NBC, YOU DIDN'T TAKE ANY "CHANCES".  YOU GAVE US WATERED-DOWN, CONTENTLESS LENO AND DID NOTHING SPECIAL/AMAZING/ETC.  Fools.
3. Sucks to be Conan?
4. Screw Carson Daly.

If I was Conan I'd leave for another Network. It took them forever to finally to commit to giving him the Tonight show and he stuck by them and he just got and now they are giving it back to Leno for failing. I mean I know Conan's show will still be "The Tonight Show" but it won't have the Tonight Show's time slot.

I agree.  And from what I hear, moving to an earlier time slot just watered him down anyway.

Actually, I take that back:  Leno should just leave.

Conan would do better on another network, probably cable. A real gamble would be having a premium network (HBO or Showtime) airing the show on weeknights.

I guess Fox is watching this closely and if Conan leaves over this they plan to scoop him up.

Word is that Conan told NBC to go fuck itself and refuses to be bumped back past midnight again. I don't blame him, it's like giving a popsicle to a child and then stealing it away again 5 seconds later. Conan needs to sue NBC out of business.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Ron Bennington put it best. A million people died in Haiti, yet we're preoccupied because a millionaire starts work a half-an-hour later.

Conan O'Brien gets a job offer from 'Sons of Anarchy'

Also:

Silverman: Give Conan a chance

Quote
Leave it to the hilarious Sarah Silverman to remember the forgotten victim in the NBC late-night wars: Mavis Leno.

“I have nothing bad to say about anybody, but I do recall a certain young Jay Leno saying he was going to take his wife Mavis out for dinner by the time he was 60,” Silverman said. “Isn’t that what he said five years ago?“

“How about that dinner? Mavis is starving!”
