Funny as hell, honestly.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

Charles Manson bet it all on the blacks.  Would he have been better off to have bet on the browns?
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

"Animosity" is not the appropriate word, it's more like frustration at the status quo.  I don't know if you think I look at every white person or every man and blame them personally for my problems, but in case anyone was thinking that, you're wrong.

Quote
As far as entertainment being mostly white characters you have to remember this is a mostly white country.

Even going by census data that 65% or so people that are white, the numbers are way higher when it comes to people in positions in powet and representation in mass media.  And when things like this and this and this and this keep happening, frankly it is upsetting.

Quote
It wasn't the asians and latinos fighting to free it from the brittish.

Not every production is a period piece.

Quote
And as far as men dominating everything I wonder if that will ever change.  The powet that women have today seems to be powet given (to them by men).  Whereas the powet that men possess over women is a powet taken since the dawn of time.  That's millions of years of evolution you're up against there.  The very nature of the beast as it were.

I more or less agree though I will add that there are instances, especially in familial interactions I've personally witnessed, where women have powet but *still* yield it to men and often to the woman's own detriment.  All of this has often made me feel very hopeless and depressed, even back since I was a little girl.

In fact, I am far more sensitive to sexism than I am to racism.  I remember being about five years old and thinking something along the lines of "Fuck, I'm boned.  I'm a fucking girl."  I honestly didn't even give race issues that much thought until a few years ago.

Quote
How many non latinos are in latino country productions right now?

I don't know what you mean by "latino country productions".  Like films in Mexico and such?  I have no way of knowing without taking insane amounts of time and I don't see enough Latin films to know off the top of my head.  Also, as far as I know, the film industry in Mexico is not one non-Latin people yearn to break into like the American one, so the number would certainly be low.  However, prominent Latino producer/directors like Robert Rodriguez, Guillermo del Toro, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Alfonso Cuarón have all produced and directed films that starred non-Latinos.

You don't find mass racial insecurity funny? There are some black supremicist websites I could also post, ya know, aside from the Obama church website that was taken down during the scandal.

No that's not what I was thinking. More I'd be worried that when that frustration boiled over that I'd be the target of the anger you felt, not cause you blamed me, but because I was more a symbol of what you were mad at. Basicly I'd be worried that you'd always see me a white male first instead of a person that just happens to be white and male.

Of course there are more people in powet and media representation for white people.  White people founded this country and are the majority in the census.

It's like being upset about japanese people holding powet in japan.

This is a predominantly white country and if someone has a problem with it being so then they're probably a racist.

And yes as a girl you're boned, but from all the feedback I've been given this is actually a good thing.

What do you feel like you won't be able to do that you want to do?

I don't think I find it as funny as you do, no.

I wouldn't find those funny either.

At the risk of sounding terribly insensitive to your feelings and fears, that is the stupidest thing I've ever seen you type to me.

This is a predominantly white country and if someone has a problem with it being so then they're probably a racist.

No, they aren't.  By your logic, you've saying people like this were racists.  Don't be silly.

And yes as a girl you're boned, but from all the feedback I've been given this is actually a good thing.

What do you feel like you won't be able to do that you want to do?

I'm not certain I want to know about this "feedback"?  How is this a "good thing"?  Considering I've been one, you know, my whole life, I fail to see what the positives have been aside from being able to play with Barbies and wearing the occassional skirt with no judgment.  I've been told that the accounting field is looking for Hispanic females and I have a great chance of being hired.  Do you mean shit like that?  Yeah, I need a job and I guess I'm supposed to skip around or something at the prospect of getting one because of my ethnic background and a vagina instead of any the actual qualifications I actually worked really hard on.

As for "what do you feel like you won't be able to do", it's not really about some big self-focused event like "i want to be a race car driver" or something like that.  Its a lot of the little things I'm certain would come off as petty to you and you'll just tell me to live with it.  Which I know I have to.

No, but maybe I just need to hear you say it. It's one thing to think something and another to know it.

Edit: Dec. 1999. That's when I showed on the Ass-spank. I didn't get the net till June of 99 and it took me to Dec to find that board viva eZboard.

Okay, off a year.  98 was when I first got a comp, so that's why I estimated it.  Wow, so I guess I spent nearly an entire year in the DBZ fandom before I actually branched out.

And I don't think that first meeting should count...at least not for a full meeting. I mean we were together what...an hour or two before you got hoplessly lost in the Mall and I spent the next 3 hours looking for you.

Then how the hell did you mask it? I can smell smokers miles away and you didn't smell like smoke. And you didn't smell of heavy perfume that a lot of people try to cover the smell of the smoke. Are you sure? I mean this was like  Halloween of 2001.

Don't overthink it, it's simple: I didn't light up before we met.  I didn't have any smoke-smell to mask.  I was always a pack-a-month smoker at most.

No...but I've been around plenty of people that do. But all of them are more a pack a day type.

Still I'm surprised you beat my nose. I have a very sensitive sense of smell.

Dude, I just said there was no smell on me.  I didn't beat your nose.

And yeah, the people at LJS that smoked were all chain-smokers.  Not being a chain-smoker certainly doesn't mean there was no point to it.  Some here and some there was enough for me.  I didn't like the smell lingering on my clothes or the taste in my mouth.  I wasn't gonna do it all the time.

Yeah I know what you said. But what I meant by beating my nose is that I've even been able to smell it on people that have clean cloths, bathed, and not smoked that day. I could still smell it then. (This was usually at work, before their first "Break") Especially the 2nd meeting. Cause we were very close to each other and I can't see you taking that whole bus ride and not smoked at least once. Course if you were smoking GPC brand I have been around that brand so much that might explain why I didn't notice at all.

Well see you don't like how it makes your cloths smell and you don't like how it tastes in your mouth...I guess this is what I mean by what is the point. You don't like the effects of it and you aren’t hopelessly hooked, so why even bother doing it? Oral fixation? So the other kids will think you are cool? Too lose weight?  I guess I just don't get it.

But you know I could maybe use your knowledge of smoking though. My main character in my book was supposed to be a smoker. I did this to show him as a flawed imperfect character, but I have all my knowledge about the subject 2nd hand. (just like the smoke.) So I actually thought about dropping it completely and making him more a damaged character then a flawed one. But it was the only time I was sad I hadn't picked up the habit. I didn't want to write about something I didn't know

This is a predominantly white country and if someone has a problem with it being so then they're probably a racist.

No, they aren't.  By your logic, you've saying people like this were racists.  Don't be silly.
Quote

I fail to see what 4 kids in a diner has to do with what I'm talking about.  The people that kept them out of there were racists.  I know you're not saying all whites are racists because we're the majority so I don't get it.  However, we are the majority and the founders.  We're going to have more powet, representation, etc. because of that. Does this not make sense?  Were we supposed to just set up the infrastructure through countless wars and then hand it over to the illegal immigrant minority?

And yes as a girl you're boned, but from all the feedback I've been given this is actually a good thing.

What do you feel like you won't be able to do that you want to do?

Well if it's just a bunch of little things I don't see what you're all up in arms about.   As for the feedback of being boned I'm just going on what I've been told.  I've never been boned and have no plans to experience it (regardless of where I work apparently).  But to be truthful I think girls got the better deal sexually.  Not that I don't enjoy it (immensely) but it seems to me that whatever they're feeling is more intense, what with the screaming and shuddering, etc. Even so I wouldn't trade my penis in so maybe there is something elusively right about your argument.

IDE:

I am not proposing a massive take-over of white society, I just want minority folks to have 30-35% of the pie considering we're about that amount of the population.  I'm not expecting you to "hand it over".  Does that not make sense?  And most of my ancestors were in this country before 1900 at the least so the implication that I'm a part of the "illegal immigrant minority" is ass.  Not every minority is an immigrant or an illegal.  A bunch of us don't want illegals just skating on in here either.

You misunderstood.  "Little" in comparison to some big life-focused event like a woman who has a dream of being the best in a male-dominated field.  Not "little" as in "no big deal to me".  The "better deal sexually" is something I personally could care less about.  I'd rather have been born a man instead of some catty, over-objectified, disrespected, weaker gender with see-through clothes and baby-itis.

Dude, you're a fucking dog?

Well I did once throw one of my shirts away cause I went over to a friends house and his dad smoked and I couldn't get the smell out of it even after washing it. I can tell the difference between Diet and reg. soda by smell (very helpful when a waitress/waiter messes up and you don't want to have to drink after someone.) And my nickname in High school was Mutt. But it was cause I had a tendcy to not close the A in my name...so it looked like Mutt instead of Matt.

I find actual smoke and the inhaling and exhaling of smoke theurapetic.  And I like fire and shit that burns.  Sometimes when I get really stressed out I find myself wanting one but I can do without.  And I'm not the type that's gonna get off my bus just to smoke a lousy cigarette.  I smoked Marlboro.

Seems like a strange reason to do it, but takes all kinds I guess.

When I quit, it wasn't really anything to me at all.

Wait...so you don't smoke anymore? I didn't know that. Damn..I thought you weren't smoking when you were and thought you were when you weren't. I can't trust anything anymore! THE WORLD IS A LIE!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't sure what you were proposing but it seemed like some sort of general dissatisfaction with the majority having more representation, powet, etc.

Now you're down to wanting to 35%.  Which is a totally different argument.

But while were here, do people deserve representation based on race?  Isn't that against what this country was founded upon?

Should the predominant culture that has powet and representation just give some up because a certain amount of people decided to move here?

Can a bunch of people move into a land that they didn't found or fight for and demand powet and representation?

And I wasn't saying you're an illegal or anything like that I was alluding to the questions above.  Which are super valid and thought provoking.

It just blows my mind how people take for granted that which they're afforded here.  In other parts of the world minorities aren't treated to any representation at all, instead they're treated to mustard gas.  And the reason that's not so here is because of the predominantly white american culture that set this place up, but is apparently out to get the minorities.

You can't lump the people that are "keeping you down" in with the rest of the white people. (not that you are specifically, but a lot of people to do)

<insert the old "to do that is to become the very thing you despise" speech here>

And being a man comes with a whole other set of problems that you can't fully comprehend anymore than I can fully understand why it bugs you to be a girl.  This is one situation where empathy isn't enough.  There has to be some upside to being female or else you'd all be killing yourselves.

The whole empathy thing on the U.S. Supreme Court is bull anyway.  You don't need empathy to apply law.  Impartiality is a hallmark of a true justice system...take that away, and you've got a perceived merit system rather than a legal one.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I certainly don't mean to propose that things should be based on empathy, but perfect impartiality isn't possible in a human being.

I wasn't sure what you were proposing

I wasn't proposing anything.  It's too bad we can't actually talk about this in person, because I think you've just gone off in a different direction than me.

Should the predominant culture that has powet and representation just give some up because a certain amount of people decided to move here?

Can a bunch of people move into a land that they didn't found or fight for and demand powet and representation?

I'm sure the natives said the same thing. You have to realize how insulting that is.  When this country was built on stolen land and imported slaves?  Where I live now WAS Mexico, for crying out loud.

And I wasn't saying you're an illegal or anything like that I was alluding to the questions above.  Which are super valid and thought provoking.

Congratulations on your "super valid" questions.  Frankly, all I hear is more of "This is OUR country, GTFO".  The backbone of minority rights does not rest on immigration issues.  I talk about minority rights and wanting a piece of the pie and you continue to talk about immigrants?

Minority != Immigrant

Are you seriously lumping in minorities and legal immigrants in with illegals like we're one big happy collective?  Like how people treat Africa like it's one country?

This country was founded over 200 years ago.  It now has a significant minority population.  Are we just supposed to shut-up and be happy we haven't been gassed yet?  That blows my mind.  Frankly, if someone told me that I would have to show eternal gratitude and submissiveness to the white people of this country for not gassing me, I would have taken the gas.

BTW, The illegal immigrants come here for work.  Who do you think hires most of these illegals?  If they continue to be hired for work in this country, then they deserve some rights.  People can't just be used and disposed of.  You want to benefit from their labor and not give them any rights?

There has to be some upside to being female or else you'd all be killing yourselves.

I'm certain there are upsides.  I haven't found any yet that satisfy me, but again I speak purely for myself.
