I meant to watch Arnold in The Last Stand when it was in theaters, but I waited an hour after it debuted and missed it. So I picked up the bluray last week and just got around to seeing it last night...very fun movie. No, it's not high cinema by any means, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not the typical Schwarzenegger film--until the last thirty minutes, anyway.

Yeah, a lot of people seemed to like Clerks 2. I still like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back much, much more.

I like that one a lot too....I get called crazy a lot but my least favorite of his films is Chasing Amy. I'm not saying it is bad or that I hate it. I love that flick, but out of his stuff (that I've seen) it is my least favorite. But I haven't seen like Jersey Girl, or Red State. I just recently saw Zak and Miri Make a Porno, and I really liked that one. But I mean if you think the Donkey Show was done a bet then this one...wow.

Mud, on the other hand, is bloody excellent. Apparently McConaughey is capable of acting afterall.

Going by what most critics had to say, and the fact that Shyamalan directed it, I fully expected After Earth to be absolute garbage. The thing is, it's not. There's so much worse out there.

I didn't love it, I don't know that I'd even say I liked it, but I certainly didn't hate it.

For instance, if you want to compare it to something else Will Smith has done, it's a better movie than both Men in Black II and III. Those movies were fucking trash, II especially.

I know I've seen Jersey Girl. Oh wait, it's coming back to me. George Carlin was in Jersey Girl. And Raquel Castro who later came out in the Voice played the kid. *GOOGLE* Okay, and Liv Tyler. You know, I remember liking it but talk about being forgetable. I recall now that it was decent but people watching it and expecting all the madcap shit from a regular Kevin Smith film are going to likely be pretty fuckin' disappointed. Which probably explains why it bombed.

Kevin Smith is like that band that became famous for it's sound and then suddenly wants to branch out and change their sound and then can't understand why none of theirs fans are buying their stuff anymore.

Oh yeah yesterday I watched the live action movie of Rurouni Kenshin and it was AMAZING. i fangirl-ed so hard. So hard. The fight scenes were 10/10, hotness of characters 10/10 (except Kaoru she looked like an anorexic pig). Saitou is a DILF. Only disappointing things were that Aoshi wasnt in it even though a member of the Oniwabanshuu was and that they just grabbed the first 30 episodes, mixed them up and put them in a 2 hours movie. Also some things arent cannon like the way Sano meets with Ken, Yahiko etc etc but all in all a fucking great movie

I saw Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires and Watchmen: The Director's Cut. Which the Director's Cut wasn't that much different then the theatrical cut. I thought this was the one that had all the Black Freighter stuff added in, but nope.

Yeah I found that out afterwards. But Watchmen is still a pretty awesome movie and I only paid 3 bucks for it, so I'm not complaining.

The last movies I've seen included:

Tucker and Dale Vs Evil - I finally was able to rent this movie. All in all a decent, mostly enjoyable spoof of a horror movie. It stars the guy who played Wash in Firefly as Tucker, Alan Tudyk. It also looked like it starred that one tall black guy from Mad TV, but apparently it was some other unknown actor.
My biggest issues included the fact that you figure out very quickly that the woodsmen are nice guys, and you find out very quickly who the real psycho is. The whole movie is told from the perspective of the woodsmen, so you know they're not really bad. Plus, the timing of the movie was a bit off. At first college kids die on a regular basis, but then there's a rather long stretch where no one dies, then all of a sudden several people die at once as if they ran out of ways to kill people and the writers were just like "Let's blow everyone up!".

Still, a good movie. The main female character was just so damn hot. A little bit of fanservice with her as well, but no nudity, which is a pity because I heard in the commentary that she wanted to do a nude scene. WHY didn't they let her do a nude scene?! ;_;

I saw the Avengers and Brave. The Avengers I enjoyed just a little more than I initially thought I would. However, my bar was low as I did go in expecting another Iron Man 2 and crossing my fingers otherwise. Decent popcorn movie. Was never compelled to skip through it or anything and it moved at a good clip. The dude playing Loki sucked and Thor's accent sucks but who really gives a shit about those things anyway.

I also had a low bar for Brave and Brave limbo'd right under that. It just felt like a dumb pointless waste of space. The plot was not a feature-length plot. There was nothing likeable about the character other than her skill with a bow. I wanted to kick her in the face. I'd 've rather seen a movie about the witch instead. The feminine bear joke got old quick and I did forward parts of the movie in the second half, which dragged like molasses. And the music... ugh. I felt like this movie was gonna try to sell me tampons with music like that.
