I added Scott Pilgrim to my NF queue but it's one of those titles where you have a wait a month until it's available.

Jonah Hex. It wasn't great...but not bad as I expected. There wasn't nearly as much Megan Fox as the preview let on. And it shared almost the exact same plot for Wild Wild West. Crazed ex-Confederate building a super weapon to destroy the U.S.

The sad part is, Jonah Hex would make a damn fine TV show if anyone had the balls to give it a shot. I have yet to see the movie, given that it'd probably piss me off more than anything that they let Hex go to waste.

I would trade the Walking Dead for a Jonah Hex series.

Because they wouldn't really have an overall template to work with, so they'd have more freedom to do their own fun shit.

Although maybe that's what went wrong with the movie.

Bah.

Yeah, I remember hearing ppl surprised with how little she was in it.  But anyway, best to blame that disaster of a movie on her.  At least this way, the franchise will escape some of the blame.  Also, Megan Fox thinks Wonder Woman's lame so screw what happens to the rest of her "career" aka "a slew of appearances in Maxim and some racy B-flicks before her tits sag and she ends up on the latest revival of Hollywood Squares".

I do think she had at least something to do with its failure. People where Megan Foxed out. But really, I mean they put like every scene she was in, in the preview. I can only think of one scene she was in that you didn't see in the preview and it wasn't a very long one. It's like someone in marketing thought she'd be a major draw for the film and was really wrong.

The movie it's self, while not hamlet or anything, wasn't terrible. It was shot well, everyone played their parts well. The plot was a summer action movie plot. It was like a million other action movies. And since a lot of those movies did well and this one bombed, there must be some factor that turned people off and I do think it was Megan Fox.

Oh wow, Faye Caps Rage.

I rewatched Chasing Amy.  Heads and tails way above Mallrats but now that I've seen it again, the ending's actually pretty shitty.  And the beginning's much better than the rest of the film.

It's been so long since I've been here I've seen a bunch of movies since then.

Just finished Robin Hood. I liked it as a movie but it had nothing to do with Robin Hood's legend. It was all about Robin Hood BEFORE he became an outlaw. I was wondering why, 90 minutes into the movie, he hadn't began theving yet. It's 2 1/2 hours of a traitor trying to ignite civil war in Britian so that the French could invade, and they end up running at the end of the movie. The real worthwhile part of the movie was King John, which was a total douche but a damn good douche.

There were times when the movie seemed way too condensed even considering how long it was, and shit happened without explination. For instance, the villian leading a sack of Nottingham and then suddenly disappearing, only to reappear on the beach an instant later, like how the fuck did he travel miles in a second. Or everyone in the British army knowing Robin's true identity during the final battle without him telling them even though he was using someone else's identity through the entire film.
I also smell a sequel. I'd like to see one just so we can actually see some god damn outlawing and theiving.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I saw a Bollywood movie with a title I can't be bothered to look up.  It was decent but unlike past Bollywood flicks I've seen, it had very little story to hold it together.  There was a romance and the lead guy was downright dislikable for the first half of the movie.

I also saw "Agora".  Since I had never heard of Hypatia and was not terribly familiar with that moment in Egyptian history, it was all quite new to me.  A great movie.

It's also a Greek word and was the name for an open place of assembly like a Roman forum.  It's an English-language Spanish movie about Greek scholar Hypatia (played by Rachel Weisz) who teaches in Alexandria during the rise of Christianity in the Roman empire.  The cover looked interesting to me so I Netflixed it and it was very good.
