Had some fun with foot locker lately...

A month ago, I return some shoes I just bought because they don't fit right. The guy gives me a return on a gift card, which I then use in-store to order from their online catalog shoes they don't have in store.

The idiot associate manager handles my order, says the order has gone through, and tosses the gift card and return reciept.

Turns out the order didn't go through, so I had no shoes, no giftcard, and no money.

I've been stopping in the store about 20 times just to harass them and get them to help me, and the ass. manager finally tells me to call customer service in NYC. They say they can get me a new gift card, but I need the gift card reciept faxed to them. The reciept which the Ass. Manager threw away. And they can't reprint the reciept.

So I have to go through a bunch more hoops, and ended up talking to three managers in store, and called about 4 numbers and talked to 4 clueless people over the phone, and someone called from their customer service offince and finally, over a month after I ordered the shoes, asked for an address to mail another gift card to me.

I don't want another gift card. I'd rather just shop somewhere else after the monthlong shitfest of "we can't help you even though we fucked up."

You should have had the idiot dig your receipt out of the trash the moment he threw it away.  Why'd you give it to him, anyway?

You should keep receipts for returns where they don't give you any cash.  Anything other than cash back is a fuck-up waiting to happen.

No, they needed the reciept for the gift card itself, the one that came out of the register when he put the money on the giftcard. But yea, he threw away the original reciept, the return reciept (with the giftcard info), and the only one I got was for the phone order.


All is good though. Customer Service sent me another gift card. Sucks though because I don't want to buy shit from that company anymore. But at least I can get my shoes now. So thread over man, thread over!

I just checked ebay, you can auction gift cards.. that gives me something else to think about.

I'm trying to sell it on ebay, but damn it all if no one's buying it except the guy who tried to give me the card numbers to "Check to make sure the card has money on it." You mean to scam me out of the money and use the card online.

Well nevermind, I had two bids on it. But neither reached the reserve price... If they think they can get the card for anything less than $10 less than the price... :/
