If I had decided two years after the fact to accuse someone of molestation, I'd like to think I'd have more sense than to show up at court being coached by a mother who had a history of welfare fraud, lying under oath and filing phoney lawsuits and a bunch of "witnesses" who had been dismissed from the defendant's employment for various things such as theft and selling stories to tabloids.

That was only one case, and just because she was a psycho only shows that he had great lawyers. We'll see who comes out now that he's dead and they can't bleed money from him.

I was never a fan unless you count liking a few songs, but I would have sprung him too had I been on the jury. Nothing was established beyond a reasonable doubt. "Witnesses" who claim to have seen the guy touching kids inappropriately and did nothing, told no one?? I can't stand most brats and I would have called the cops so fast the wire would be smoking. Plus there was another fishy case in 1993 (that reeked to high hell of extortion) and Mom still lets her kid stay alone with him? I'm not very impressed when I'm more careful with my doggie day care than someone is with her children. I'm not saying he was never weird with kids - I don't know. But I think both public cases were crocks. True, we'll see what happens now.

Aside from that, I couldn't have cared less about the surgeries, reclusiveness, rumors, blah, blah that everyone seemed so upset/fascinated about. I'll take open eccentricity over phoney respectability any day. *coughMichaelVickcough*

Michael Jackson died back in the the early nineties. I don't remember whether it was "Scream" or "Black and White" that was the last single I paid any attention, too. All I care about is the music and the music was gone a long time ago, gone admist an immense carnival of weird.

I tend to think, 80 vs. 20 percent, he was innocent. I think he was just very troubled and very strange. Listen to any interview. He has the mind and trusting nature of a child. All it would take is one person to accuse him before everyone jumps on the bandwagon to get their piece of the pie. I'm certain his life was ruined from that point on and it only made him stranger.

Latest news I heard is that he was a skeleton popping tablets like a Pez dispenser. Sounds like another care of "odd rich person Darwinizes self," aided by doctors too busy being greedy to give him the help he needed.

Anybody else appreciate the irony (or is that coincidence) that headlines are reading "The King is Dead", given his connection to Elvis' daughter?

A while female pedophile died? You talking about Farah Fawcett? I didn't know she was a pedophile, but the news has been all over her death. People all over the world mourning for her death, the news talking about it 24/7, the tv stations playing reruns of Charlie's Angels episodes... no one will shut up about her. There's people holding vigils the world over for her. People remembering how she affected their life.

Oh yea, and Michael Jackson died, but no one gives a shit about him. Haven't heard much more than a peep from the news of his passing.

I tuned out after Black and White, but I heard Scream and really liked it actually. But that was the last I knew of him when it came to Music.

Proably the latter. The sound quality is better on CDs and MP3, I just like to play the records and pretend it's still 1984. Besides Duran Duran's Rio has a huge scratch right across Hungry Like the Wolf. Which I could have seen and not bought it the thrift store hadn't taped the sleeve shut.
