Wow, it's about as dead as I've ever seen it. Can it be that people are getting lives? Why couldn't they have waited until I was back in school next week?

Well I think Beck was finally graduating from College. I figured she'd be in school forever, but I guess she proved me wrong on this at least. Without her here the heart and soul go out of this place since it's hers. Course I was the first one here, and I'll probably be the last to leave. So I'll be around in some form probably till she doesn't pay for the hosting anymore.

Lots of life happening, and none of it seems to be fun. I'm not going to go on a whine - just the bullet points:

House almost flooded on one side on April 28 - thank you rampant neighborhood development! Awating a visit from an outdoor drainage dude and an estimate of probably $3000 to keep this from happening in the future, maybe.

Almost hurricane season - the most funnest time ever for insurance people!

Eddie's mother is in ICU from a spinal cord abcess removal. We're not living at the hospital. We're Bad Children.

A producer has once again taken the bare bones of a conversation and turned it into how we can Shit the Client a Miracle. It then becomes MY responsibility to find some Ex-Lax in the form of a company crazy enough to write the craptastic loss-riddled account.

On the plus side, another kitten rescue from our parking garage about 3 yesterday.

This one rode up here between the bed and frame of a truck. She was extremely stinky from grease and general dirtiness and of course wanted to snuggle up in my hair. Got some fun looks in the elevator when I left.

So, general news! Everyone say what the hell is going on!

Not that it means I would've been online or anything, but for about three days we had no phone so no internets. Don't know what the hell happened, I forgot to ask the guy. I've also been going online once a week at school to use their faster connection while I still can, so after being online all day ~~stealing~~ partaking of the internet's bounty, I'm kinda done for the rest of the week.

So graduated like Rama said. Will start job hunting in the near future but for the moment I'm being lazy. With the market the way it is, it's not like there's a hell of a lot of work anyway. May or may not go to graduate school. 50/50 on that right now.

Been spending my days baking (I made a german chocolate cake from scratch), watching court shows (People's Court, whoo-hoo) and DVDs, reading Jane Austen and Jin Yong, and writing shit. Got a new computer too (a Toshiba laptop) as a graduation present to myself since I've been waiting a whole year to find just the right one, so I've been playing with that. I spent all day the other day moving my library of lovely junk over from my desktop computer, Merla's laptop, and the three USB drives I keep it all stored on since I finally have some fucking space now and don't have to keep things split up. My desktop comp has 40GB of space. It's still very functional for the basics (though my DVD driver is out of date or something) but other than that, it was a pain to keep having to delete a whole crapload of stuff every other week to make room.

I have plenty of cat pictures to post... whenever I get to it, that is. One of the neighborhood cats is sadly/joyfully pregnant (but none of the toms around here are the baby-daddy, they're all neutered). Something that really amused Merla the other day: She was commenting on how she may have to take the pregnant cat to get an abortion and I was all "No! I only believe in that for humans!"

I should be doing much more, but I figure once I get regular work, I won't have time to breathe for a while.

I put all my stuff on an external drive, which saved my sanity. I wish it were a networkable drive, so the desktop wouldn't have to be on for the laptop to get to it, though. But now that I have high-speed it's on all the time anyway downloading the innerweb so it's not a problem.

AT&T DSL. Supposed to be 1.5Mbps, but I haven't measured anything over 1.2 yet.

I found that link through digg. I loved the digg comments about people needing to walk their ass to the library. (Paraphrasing that, btw.) I can only imagine the majority of ppl on digg are so sheltered they don't realize how many degenerates flood into the library and why most people in sane frame of mind would dare to tread there. And there's a whole section on that website about people who live in the middle of nowhere and don't get squat. What library are *they* supposed to go to?
