I was searching for the source of my last name online, since someone once told me I'm Scottish in origin. So far I've found a Lawyer in Hawaii, a systems engineer in Ohio, a doctor in California, and a couple in Colorado who all share my last name. I've found out that most people with my last name hail from the northern states, primarily the midwest and north east. I also found out that at least 11 people with my last name fought in teh Civil War for the North.

Edit: and someone in Arizona, 24, who likes anime, and a network tech in Houston. And someone wrote a book about my last name....

And if you search for your name using the search engine at the bottom of this site, it will tell you how many people have your surname according to the 2000 US census.
