On another board, I had quotes in my sig, but I always wanted to put new quotes into my sig, and the sig size was restricted.

So I created a PHP script that will take a text file with a bunch of quotes and sayings, one per line, and randomly select one to display. Unfortunately, most boards do not allow php tags in a signature. So now that I have the code written to pick a random quote, I'm going to write code to have the quote placed into a small image file. Then the image file is displayed in the board's signature.

But I need cheap ass server space, enough just to put a few megs of data in.

I'll make the code available to people here when I'm done with it, if you want to use it as well.

Sigh. That website is annoying for several reasons.

The free space search engine does not display if they allow PHP at each place, or let me search by maximum space size. So I type in 10mb and it gives me all server space from 10mb to 1000000mb, but I can't search from 5mb to 100mb. The paid search engine doesn't allow me to search by server size AT ALL. The person who made that site fails.

However, I may take a look at some of the sites listed there anyway. ATM I'm not looking for server space as I'm using an Apache server to work with my PHP script.


Script's almost done. The basic script is simple... it opens a file of quotes, picks one randomly, and displays it. Works good on your own website, but most board signatures do not take PHP. Hence why the program places the quote into an image file.

I was stuck on how to word wrap the text in the image, so it doesn't shoot the text past the edge of the image. Seems PHP has a wordwrap() function that will do it for me, and does not split words in half unless I specify it to.

That filesaver place is a file storage place, like Yousendit or Rapidshare. It's not for websites.

The first place I went to had trouble sending the confirmation email to my account, and also asked too many personal questions. I went with the second one, which took a day for my domain name to activate.

I already have a Geoshitties account so I loaded the PHP script there. Didn't work.

I created a rather lengthly Read Me file, lenthly because people are stupid and I wanted the script to be as idiot proof as possible. I also created a simple web page to feature my quote randomizer.

Lindsey Lohan is bisexual?  She strikes me as some sort of white trash mom's meal ticket.  And her being bi comes across more trashy to me than sexy. Like she's a springer slut or something. 

Maybe I just don't like her and her sleezy cocaine habit.  I guess it's better for the youth of america to see her on drugs making an ass of herself.  If I was a movie star and doing cocaine I would make that shit look so cool everyone with the last name escobar would be making $250,000 more a year.

Is that in reference to one of the quotes that was generated or what, cause I don't know where that's coming from.  Anyway, that's why I don't like to call myself bisexual, because I think what most people picture is the Trashy Lohan type that'll do anybody anytime anywhere.
