I stand by what I said. I'm tired of "and has cancer" becoming to life's problems what "in bed" is to fortune cookie fortunes: as if it's added on for impact. I'm not saying cancer isn't horrible, but I'm annoyed that it's being used to quantify Edwards' offense. What does quantify or add impact to something? If not a life threatening/terminal disease then what? Or are you so impartial that you weigh every act on its own merit regardless of the circumstances of the parties involved? Word. Pretty much anything Ann Coulter says runs right on his heels *cough9-11widowscough*. He was addicted to prescription pain-killers (Wikipedia says it was oxycodone and hydrocodone) following a surgery that went awry, for which he entered rehab before being accused later of doctor-shopping in Florida to obtain them. When the state couldn't prove the charges he settled with them by paying for the investigation costs and agreeing to random drug screens.

As for fueling paranoia and anger, maybe...the paranoia and anger on the part of those who don't like what he's saying and want to shut him up.

I just plain don't like mean. I've never watched a reality show because I don't like to see people being humiliated. I've never seen Jerry Springer. Rush is, as my dear late grandmother would have phrased it, "tacky". If that makes me some kind of wuss, so be it, but commentary such as his totally goes against what I learned as the Golden Rule, and I'm having a rather difficult time beliving that I'm the only person within airwave earshot with the same sentiment. Hence, I don't listen to him. That's one of the beautiful things about living in a free country - the right to eradicate a station from one's car dial.

If he's anyone's inspiration, fine. Once again, living in a free country....
