I'm not about to argue about this forever, but I want to make one thing clear, and that's the fact that I did work a lot with my previous job.
I mean, I was gone from this board for about 3 months or so without a single post.
I never worked 2 day work weeks. The least amount of days I worked was 3, and that was rare. Most of the time I worked at least 4 days a week. During the busiest time at work, during the winter, I was working 6 day weeks. A few weeks I had to work all 7 days in the week. The week I was mugged I was scheduled for all 7 days (only worked 4 of them), and the week before I had worked 6 days. And these weren't 3-4 hour shifts either. I'd be there at 5pm sharp and work until after close. Every work shift would be at least 7 hours and be up to 11 hours, with the exception of the few times I would be let go early because we were slow. During the winter, it was not unusual to do 40 deliveries a night (that doesn't sound much until you realize that 20 is average for a pizza driver), and even during the summer, because we were short staffed (hence the 6 day work week), I was making 25-30 deliveries a night. I never ever worked a 2 day work week while at that company unless I had car trouble.
The reason I was denied unemployment was due to error on my employers part, he wasn't reporting his wages properly and it made it look like I was earning less than I was. One busy month I was paid in cash rather than with pay checks, so those wages weren't reported. My YTD amount was reset to zero back in early March which makes it look like I earned less. The money they gave to me every night for mileage and gas was unreported to taxes and unemployment, and my tips were unreported as well.
I went through every single pay stub I had and added them up by hand one at a time and found out that I did make over the minimum amount to get unemployment, so I have sent copies of the paystubs to unemployment and appealed their decision. I should get their response next week, although they may think of some other bizzare reason to deny me.
Also, unemployment does not come from taxes. The money for unemployment comes directly from the employers from a government business tax that employers are required to pay. So it would be my previous job paying my unemployment checks, which I think is just revenge and better than prank phone calls. (No, I will not give you guys the phone number, you'd have to know local streets in order to prank them anyway).
