That whole "not smoking in bars" seems like a crock of shit.  Granted I don't go to bars, but it seems unreasonable people can't go kill their lungs AND their liver at the same time.

I miss diners with smoking and non-smoking sections.  But that's more for the nostalgia it represented.

Our smoking ban is just for places that allow people under 18. I'd complain about not being able to smoke in a steakhouse or whatever, but it sucks trying to eat in a smoky haze anyway.

We aren't supposed to have things that explode/launch into the air in Wichita, but there are a ton of firework tents just outside of town where you can buy all the city-illegal shit. Cops patrolling residential neighborhoods don't even have to buy them, they just confiscate the shit from stupid kids blowing shit up in the front yard.

It's also illegal to go to Illinois (also very close to my town) and buy cigarettes to "smuggle" them back to Iowa because they're like a dollar cheaper in Illinois.  I think the fine is something to the tune of $40 a pack you get caught with.

what kind of bullshit is this? They're trying to tell me what I can and can't drive over a state line with?  Gas is $5 a gallon?  I almost want this country gone, it's just like Ishtar in Dragonlance pre cataclysm! It's time for the gods to smite this country and plunge the world into endless war and zombie infestation!

Indeed.

I just got back from the pool where 3 20 something french chicks with perfect bodies were tanning topless.

I had to move my chair to get a better view but then I commenced to pretend to read my book all the while peeking over the cover to catch glimpses of their beautiful perky breasts.  It was like an episode out of GTO.

I wonder if theres as much eurotrash in cali as there is here?  It's not like I'd stay in florida because of this but I do understand why my dad owns a pair of binoculars.

I would be surprised if there wasn't.

I'm not really for or against it, seeing as almost all of my friends smoke.  I understand not smoking in restaurants because I hate getting smoke in my face while I'm trying to eat, but drunk people always want to smoke cigarettes.  On the plus side, I like going to bars and not reeking like cigarettes (some here have already become non-smoking to ease the transition).

Funny thing:  You apparently have to be 15 feet away from a restaurant/bar to smoke and 15 away from the front of my restaurant is in the middle of the street.  But there's a little street and parking lot out back so that ruins my fun.

Fuck the no-smoking rule. It's bullshit. I don't care about not smoking in restaurants though, since I hate the cig smell when I'm eating but bars? come oooooon. its a fucking BAR, for christ's sake.
Luckily for all the smokers here in PA, there's some weird law that says that if the bar does not serve any kind of food at ALL, you can smoke. Which means that the couple of bars (I know of) here in Center City in which you can smoke are always packed and you can hardly see yourself when you get in. It's kinda nasty actually, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Well, with a separate smoking and non-smoking section, it really isn't a problem.  I went to a diner that pulled this off fairly well with a see-through partition.  I think it's silly that instead of doing something like that, you toss the smokers outside completely.  Especially outside a freakin' bar.
