Considering Speed Racer's silver screen adaptation makes it look like a fucking futuristic videogame (and the sole reason I refuse to put down a single penny for that movie), I'm not suprised.

The moronic DBZ fans who only watch the show (usually adolescent boys or men who haven't grown up) only like the show because it has gratuitous violence. It's like the fans of wrestling. You're not manly enough unless you have huge muscles and kick the ass of everyone around you.

As long as this movie has insane amounts of violence every retarded DBZ fan out there will flock to it, no matter how shitty the acting or plot.

Granted, most of DBZ is sweating and grunting and charging up in anticipation of violence, which lasts for a year per fight with intermissions of more sweating, grunting, and charging. But it was and is a fun show that people just tend to get overly excited about.

This movie on the other hand looks like a celluloid abortion.

The only thing this movie needs to succeed (for me anyway) is awesome special effects during the fight scenes. I always thought the effects they used in "The One" would be great for DBZ.
