Boycott, refuse to see because of, etc.

In fact yes, boycott is the word and it was used properly.

To abstain from using as an expression of disfavor.

I disagree but I won't mince with semantics.  Dead pets are just something I don't care to nor want to see.  I don't go through each movie I think about watching and evaluate it for dead-petism before I see it.  Every movie I've passed on has been because it looks too sappy, too dull, too gross, and/or like a sack of shit.  You're completely overdramatizing my stance on this.

Then if a great movie comes out and a pet happens to die in it you'd see it.  That's all you had to say.  Unless you wouldn't see it based on that alone even though this was a movie that you would consider perfect otherwise.  In which case I've dramatized your stance on this perfectly.

Vag patrol: We won't see it if aminalz die!

Does your contempt for women have anything to do with your addiction to them and the fact that a pretty one can drag you around by the short hairs indefinitely?  :raiseeyebrow:

Might want to consider redirecting your ire to some of the school districts who have banned books like the Mary O'Hara's Wyoming trilogy - most are only familiar with the first one, My Friend Flicka. Don't even try to judge it by either of the sappy movies.  :razz: Let's see - in that one, we have a vivid description of gelding (from which one horse dies), a cougar killing a cow (twists its head around until the muzzle is pointing upward), a horse caught in barbed wire....Thunderhead gets better with the title horse killing its grandsire, the "blood and brains mingling with the earth of his beloved valley"....and Green Grass of Wyoming with Pilgrim the dog getting gored to death by a bull - just a few occurences of animal-related violence in these books.  Not hokey plot devices; all part and parcel of life on a half-wild Wyoming ranch.  I read these in 4th grade, and now the Bubble Wrap Committee says these books are unsuitable for anyone under 14 - feh!!!  :disgust:

True story: I saw my little sister's friend get launched 15 feet across the room when we were at the farm next door and he was kicked in the face after getting too close to the back of a cow.

I thought the little dude was dead for sure.

My contempt for women is matched only by my love for them.  Indefinitely? pffft, Humans aren't monogamous by nature and far it be from me to defy nature...well maybe someday.

I agree censoring those books is retarded, but I like focusing my ire right here :P

Of course it didn't you are only affected by the deaths of cuddly wuddly aminalz.  The lives of reptiles and insects are of no consequence.  Except maybe in cases like http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088760/.

Or maybe it has something to do with not spending a lot of weekends helping to socialize abused dinosaurs and find homes for abandoned ones.

And never saw it.  Maybe if it had been a baby stegosaurus. Steggies rule.

Now I want some spinach.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

The dog dying was intragal to the plot line. It was so the character would lose his best and closest (and only) friend and start going insane afterwards. I'd watch it again and again even knowing the dog died.

And no, I didn't want the dog to die either.  But I understood why she died.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I saw The Yearling on some old movie channel for the first time.  I thought it was supposed to be this epic tear-jerker.  Didn't affect me one way or the other.  :-\

It's really not whether or not it's intragral.  It's simply not what I look for in entertainment.  I saw the movie "Shiri" the other night and I was distracted by trying to count how many fish in that movie died.  All I could think of was that it really wasn't a good enough movie to kill fish for.

I'd like to join this omniversal war and say I won't see I Am Legend for the same reason as Bernie.

Now, if it was a baby/child or another person it wouldn't bother me, but something about household pet death really rubs the wrong nerve.
10,000 steps down, round and round. One night on the town and I'm hellbound ... Black oceans beneath, come and swallow me. My little tower, seal my fate. Help me pay back, end their hate. Black oceans beneath, come and swallow me

*Gives Max owl pellet with sugar on top*  :-*

According to my sister, the Yearling didn't affect her either because the whole movie was so depressing.  She siad she would have probably shot herself as well as the deer just to escape from the horrible life the characters had.  We had to read Where The Red Fern Grows in 6th grade and went on a movie field trip - the pathos of the final "fern" scene was totallly ruined because the thing was so obviously a plastic frond shoved into the dirt.  A good book ruined by a shitty movie will always make me want to cry.
