I really do.

I'd say it makes me SAD, but I think my cache of other quirks and problems trumps that whole "experience normal mental health throughout most of the year".

This is the decline. School deadlines pop up, finals loom, Crapsgiving and Shitmas creep in and while I love holiday lights and a good pie, I hate everything else about the season. The damn shopping, the piss-poor tv (which is kinda gonna happen anyway if that Writer's strike goes on). But the impeding darkness is the shitty icing on the asscake. Thus begins my slump until mid January. I wish I was a bear. Then I could hibernate and sometimes eat people with all the other bears. And we'd sing bear songs and do crazy bear dances.

I can get through till early Jan, but that run of Jan, Feb, and March (with the glut of March Maddness, which I never have.) is the worst. I count the days till Apirl 1st.

Thanksgiving has always been a pretty measely holiday. I don't even really LIKE turkey.

Add to the fact that dinner time on Thanksgiving in my dwelling is always something fucking stupid like 1 or 2 PM, so when REAL dinner time rolls around I'm starving.

Oh yes, how fun. Loads and loads of turkey sitting there for a small eternity passed the New Year. I kinda look forward to turkey sometimes until I'm reminded how dry and generally shitty it is.

Turkey is alright.

I may go home to the boy's family this year, which scares the shit out of me since I've never met any of them. I haven't had to "meet the parents" in a few years. My family never really does anything. Even though my mom is retired, she acts like holidays are the biggest hassle ever and never wants to put in the effort to do anything cool.

Then I've never eaten turkey that's been cooked right because it's always Dry City. Thanksgiving food is never food I look forward to. At least not since adulthood began.

Well getting dark earlier is great is you want to stay out all night because it makes the night longer. But I don't want to be in my neighborhood or at campus in the dark. There's bad people, drunks, and homeless there!
