So I saw the
Iron Man trailer.
And then I looked up the wiki page about Iron Man. Let's compare the comic history with the movie history shown in the trailer.
In the original comic, he goes to Vietnam to sell transistors for weapons. In the movie, he goes to the Middle East to sell weapons.
In the comic, he is caught in a booby trap (probably set to capture him) set by the Viet Cong. In the movie, he's caught in a surprise attack (probably a trap to catch him) by terrorists.
In both, he suffers serious heart damage.
In both, he is forced to make weapons for the Vietnam/terrorists, but ends up making a supersuit. The only thing missing that I can tell is the prisoner who helps him.
In the comic, Iron Man kills the Viet Cong holding him prisoner. In the movie, he kills the terrorists.
And the first Iron Man suit in the movie looks a lot like the
original Iron Man costume from his first appearance.
But there's no communists in this movie. Just terrorists.
And of course, Stan Lee has a cameo, as always.
So, I expect this movie to kick mucho grande ass.
