Well, it's official. The place I worked at briefly has let me go. The guy's selling the company because his business is too bad, and most of the employees are getting the boot.
I also don't have enough money to pay next month's rent.
I haven't gotten one phone call from the many jobs I filled out applications at, and when I sent out emails to a few places with resumes attached I got no response, even a simple "We recieved your message" one.
The only "Job" I've gotten is at Habitat for Humanity... a volunteer position building houses one day a week. But it doesn't pay the bills.
Michigan's economy is the shittiest in the US and that's saying something. It's at the opposite end of places like Arizona, where every place I stopped by told me they'd hire me within a week. One guy I was talking to said he read an article in an alternative newspaper that predicted the Michigan economy would collapse, causing the stock market to go with it, all public services would shut down, martial law would be declared, there'd be looting, rioting, violence, murder, and death, and the state would drag the rest of the US with it, and Michigan would jumpstart the apocolypse and Jesus would show up here.
A little on the far out side, but it's almost that bad for real
The real question now is... should I sleep under bridge 1 or bridge 2?
