I mentioned it briefly but I bought a 20gb 4G iPod for less than $100. It's the black and white 4G model, not the color video 5G version currently out. I guess I got the thing so cheap because the previous owner was one of those guys who buys the latest version and dumps his old one... now that iPhone is out I wonder if that means he'll get rid of his new one? I don't mind the b&w model, the video one sounds nice but what am I going to do, watch anime episodes on it? "What did that subtitle say? It was too tiny!"

The included iEarbuds are shitty. Looking for better ones as we speak.

As I was grocery shopping late Sat night and listening to the iPod, I looked around for accesories, like speakers and a car adaptor. It's fucked up... wireless car adaptors were anywhere from $50-80, and the iPod speaker docks started at $50 and went up to $200, just for a platform with an ipod dock and two attached speakers. If I'm going to spend $100 on an audio system it better do more than just play my iPod... that thing better have a fucking CD player and radio as well, and kick out 300 watts of sound. I have a feeling the excess prices for iPod accesories are due to the popular brand name... either Steve Jobs charges $50 for anything that works with an iPod, or the companies themselves up the prices because iPods are so popular... "lolz dueds let's liek up the price of this because it's an ipodz accesory and everyone ownz a podz so they'll buy it anywayz..."

If I'm going to spend that much money I might as well get something like this, which I'll probably end up getting anyway.

Now I just have to find a good car adaptor and good earbuds. The story continues...

I have a Shuffle because I have a sweet nephew who works at the Apple store and has a 20% discount. It was my Xmas present.

Poor guy had to work from noon until midnight last Friday. I'll let him get an iPhone and work out all the bugs and maybe consider it next year when it's cheaper, but I just don't spend that much time staring at a cell phone. Besides, we're in the middle of a Cingular contract - I'm not paying another $70-$100 bucks a month on phones.

Apple didn't suck my wang. I got this iPod used, so they didn't get any of my money... the previous owner did.

Well fuck that...but if I don't find my 300$ iPod soon I will have to conclude that someone else has it. And then the idea of some shit bag listening to my iPod and making fun of me while he erased all my 80s music and replaced it with A-kon will drive me into a kill frenzy. Then while out on the town or at work some other asshole who would probably have gotten a pass otherwise will pay dearly for a minor transgression against one of my friends.

I had no problem giving Apple money for my iPod. Equivalent exchange and all that jazz. I've gotten the retail price's worth out of it.

But yeah, I feel the pain on pricey accessories.

I once looked at this one Samsung model that I could get free with a two year contract with Sprint. It played music and took pictures.

That Jitterbug is more expensive and less worth it than it looks. The phones are $150, and plans aren't much cheaper... $20 for 60 minutes, $40 for 300... Just get one of those damn Tractphones at Kmart.

And fuck a iPhone. Get a blackberry or sidekick instead.

My L6 SLVR plays MP3s, but only for ringtones

But the L7 SLVR has something like 4GB of space for 'em. But I wasn't paying out the ass for one when I already have an iPod that does the job better and I could have the L6 for free.

I just got that L7 SLVR, but I don't have any Mp3s on it yet (definitely need a memory card. I bought it last Friday and so far the only song I have is the one my friend sent me via Bluetooth.
