"I chose abortion......"
« on: Jun 25, 2007, 07:32:17 PM »
http://lifestyle.msn.com/mindbodyandsoul/womenintheworld/articlemc.aspx?cp-documentid=4595719&GT1=10114

You know, these are exactly the reasons why I support abortion. Both these women had children that had become seriously deformed during birth, one where the spinal tube wasn't closed, and the other where the brain didn't develop. In both cases the babies probably had a tiny chance of survival, 1% maybe, and if they did survive they'd be veggies. And yet Bush thinks this is some kind of fucking crusade to stop the 'genocide' of millions unborn babies.

Yea, well, fuck you Bush. And fuck you Republicans. And fuck you neocons. And fuck you conservatives. And fuck you USA government. And fuck you Christianity. And fuck the Catholic church. And fuck that neocon christian dude that died recently. And fuck that God Hates Fags guy.

I support first trimester abortions. I kinda support second trimester abortions. By the third trimester if you haven't had an abortion, you might as well give the damn thing up for adoption. Of course, a third trimester abortion should only be done if the baby's going to be born horribly deformed and half developed, or it's going to burst out of the mother's womb Alien-style.

So, murdering millions of unborn because they're simply inconvenient for the sake of a drastic minority of tragic cases is a right?

Regardless of his or her condition, the poor woman is a baby killer...no law or lack thereof changes that cold, hard fact of life.  I personally see this as equal to pulling the plug on a terminal patient, which I don't like but I recognize and sympathize with the problem and the difficult choice.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

It's horrible, but when we start saying no... there is no end.

Personally I don't mind abortions as long as what you are aborting is still a little pile of snot.

If it's progressed to the point where it looks like a little action figure then you're killing someone IMO.

If a baby is super deformed like the ones doug spoke of then I think they should be aborted as well...because if they're not aborted they'd just be discarded onto that pile of dead baby bones by the spartan inspector.

I'm struggling to wonder how many people would've kept the baby in those situations.  I mean the sort of people like the protestors.  Abortion protestors are scary as hell.  It's a horrible, cruel thing at times, but people who get abortions should be left to answer to their god or gods, and we shouldn't dictate their business.

And I still don't think MEN should be allowed to vote on this.  Yeah they make half the baby, but they can dump the package and run.  The woman bears most of the burden in all of this and the men can escape responsibility a number of ways.  It infuriates me that men vote on these issues.  A man should be allowed the right to stop abortions to save his child, but he shouldn't be allowed to say the woman has no such option and then just ditch her with meager so-called "child support" while he gives a fuck about his kid whenever the moment strikes him.

It also angers me that no one cares what ends up of these children.  There's too many hungry, abused, homeless children.  "Save teh baby it's kyoooot!"  And once it gets older, nobody's there for it anymore.

And for god's sake, condoms!  Birth control!  But noooo, these things can't be allowed near our children.  Well that'd work if people would stop touching each other, but they ain't all me!

I totally agree. It's the business of the woman who has to make the choice, no one elses.

Glad there are no pictures on parentsbehavingbadly.com of the baby who was left in the hot car whose feet were turning black by the time she was rescued - mom was inside the store shopping.  Or the molested little girl whose father tried to make her have sex with his new Labrador. Or....well, I won't describe them all.

When Roe V. Wade happened in 1973, my mother told me, "I don't like the idea of abortion, so you'd better make damn sure I never have to take you to get one!"  I wouldn't have had a choice - there is no way in hell my mother would have allowed me to disgrace the family with a bastard, and that's what they were called then - bastards.  I would have been in the car, probably the trunk in case any neighbors were peeking out the windows, bound for the doctor at 5 AM the next day. In their social circle, unwed pregnant daughters were shipped off for "ski weekends", usually on Thursday morning red-eyes when fewer people were at the airport. One could no longer simply send the child off to a relative to be reared as in the pre-Depression days and it would have been considered the height of bad parenting to hamper a girl's chances to make a "good" marriage by saddling her with an illegitimate child.

I think the biggest irony is that almost all of my parents' friends and associates were old-fashioned Republicans; the pre-Reagan "government minds its business, not ours" type.  Welcoming an out-of-wedlock child was what those horrible liberal hippies who would be the downfall of society did.

My sister, who is very anti-abortion, but knows I consider it a last resort and not a means of contraception, made an interesting comment after I had my Essure procedure - she deemed it the ultimate committment against abortion by ensuring that I'd never have to make that decision.  Hmmm....

A fine choice...is it the bastard's fault he or she's a bastard?  More often than not it's because the parents--quite literally--fucked up.  However you choose to dress it up, it's a matter of convenience, whether it's the convenience of the mother, the father, or their families.

Fifty...MILLION..."choices".  That's BULLSHIT.  As much as many would like to exclude the male voice from the debate, this man will contend over the issue for the sake of those being massacred simply because someone should.

Tell me about it.  I started trying to get my tubes tied when I was 33 and was constantly told, "You'll change your miiiiind....".  I was beginning to think people would be pounding on my coffin lid: "SURE YOU DON'T WANT ANY KIDS?"

The point I didn't make very well in the "bastard" reference is that in those ancient times, we had a behavior regulator in the matter of unwed pregnancy that seems to have completely disappeared called "shame".  It wasn't considered cool, trendy, sweet or cute to get knocked up on the wrong side of the wedding ring - it was a disaster; therefore, all the sexually-active people I knew made every effort, whether it was stealing condoms out of dad's stash,  bribing someone older to buy them or getting to Planned Parenthood somehow, NOT to get pregnant.

Babies are increasingly viewed as an accessory now, and morons like Fantasia waxing poetic about being an unmarried "babymama" never seem to get around to addressing how difficult the reality will be.  Getting pregnant, for many girls, is a way of getting attention, parties and presents.  They are completely unprepared for the baby who won't stop screaming for hours on end because it has colic or is teething.  They can't go out and party like they used to.  They don't lose the weight in a month.  The supplies they got at the shower run out and they have to spend their own money or beg it off of relatives if they aren't working.  The new wears off, and we have another baby shaken to death or showing up in the emergency room with broken bones from a "fall", or as happened here recently, no pecker because the minature daschund "jumped up on the bed and bit it off".  :nono:

Anyone who wants to decrease the number of abortions needs to quit wasting time outside clinics and go home, find the numbers and addresses of their Congressional representatives and start nagging them for the following, to name a few:

REALISTIC sex education in school with attention given to pregnancy prevention and the costs involved with childrearing.  "Financial difficulties" is the most common reason given at PP for abortions, and a leading factor in domestic violence and child abuse cases (Source, Children for Children's Art Auctions - Houston, a child abuse prevention group I'm proud to support).

Elimination of restrictions for gay and lesbian couples to adopt.   According to the National Survey for Family Growth, the percentage of unmarried women placing children in the foster care/adoption system is less than 1%.  Many women don't want to offer their children up for adoption for fear that no one will want it.  At any given moment, there are over 100,000 kids waiting for adoption in the US - why deny people who WANT to be parents because they aren't June and Ward Cleaver? The perception that it's better for a kid to be raised by the foster care system instead of being in a stable home that just happens to be headed by a same-sex couple is bullshit.  "Gay" doesn't rub off - neither does straight, for that matter.  Every GLBT person in history is a result of some sort of heterosexual congress, whether in person or IVF.

On a similar note, one might drop a line to Brad & Angelina and suggest that she make one of the 10 kids they reportedly plan to adopt a home-grown one; maybe an older black child since the majority of the kids in the foster care system fit that category.  Presently, overseas adoptions are quite the status symbol because, like an Aston-Martin, it proves that one is "successful", as if children were just some other things that high-profile figures acquire like Patek Philippe watches or Manolo Blahnik shoes.

Include birth control as a covered drug in EVERY state.  I had to pay out-of-pocket for my pills every month, which I understand have gone up to over $50, because my company's insurance coverage is in Alabama.

Make emergency contraception more available, and DON'T let pharmacists refuse to dispense it in rural areas where going to another Walgreen's is an option!  if the egg has been fertilized, Plan B WILL.NOT.WORK.  It is NOT an abortion pill!   How many times does that have to be said?!  :goddammit:

And not that anyone can do much about this now, but here's an interesting bit of trivia: abortion rates were at the lowest point since Roe V. Wade during the middle-class fiscal prosperity of the Clinton era.  Makes sense - the wealthy don't partonize middle/lower-class businesses and hire people from that demographic in the numbers the middle-class do.  If one has a job and can afford rent, food, gas, etc., an unplanned pregnancy can turn into the unexpected blessing that everyone not in the potential mothers' shoes feels it should be.  The wealthy will always have access to abortion and justification as to why they should be considered the exception to any restrictions or the ability to have the "little problem" taken care of elsewhere.  Ironically, they are also the ones who could afford to keep the child with barely a dent in their wallets.

Believe me Schwig (and Sam!), I do not ridicule you for your stance.  I understand your passion for your conviction - without splitting hairs about the subject of the comparison, Eddie and I are just as adamant about animal rescue and preventing abuse.  We've been blessed with the financial ability to keep 9 cats and 4 dogs responsibly and in good health; all but 2 being rescues, and to contribute to numerous animal welfare charities.  I know you have plans for kids made from things you happen to have lying around the house  ;) I sincerely hope that you'll also have the financial means to adopt in the future.  You'll make some lucky kids a great dad.

Hear hear Bernie... It's usually the people who protest the loudest against abortion who would secretly go out and get one for their kids if they got pregnant at 14.

As I've said before, I support full abortion if the mother's in danger or the baby's going to end up either dead on birth or so badly mangled they'd probably only survive a few weeks. As for all other abortions,  I support fully first trimester abortions, because frankly, the baby's not even fully developed by the 12th week. I've studied fetal development in high school. The baby doesn't even get a gender until 11 weeks. If you can't decide until the 6th month whether to have the baby or not, then you're just plain stupid. And frankly, I'd rather the fetus get "killed" or "murdered" then live in a shitty ghetto house with a teen mother and an abusive violent father.

Of course, we wouldn't need many abortions if people were taught and practiced not safe sex but SMART sex. IE Don't get pregnant because we're educated properly and using our heads sex.

Oddly enough though, the most people who have abortions aren't young poor black women. In fact, from what I've seen most black women keep their babies, because like Bernie said, it's attention and status for black women who only see two options for their future: Either be a sex symbol and fucktoy for a gangsta black guy, or have a baby. Most of the people who have abortions seem to be middle class women.

You can't go by how many babies a woman does or doesn't have.  Some of these women may have several kids, but unborn others ended up as abortions.  Poorer, uneducated women are more likely to have abortions.

Everyone need to practice and promote safe sex.  Abstinence is ideal but no realistic for the majority of the population.

It's ridiculous that Bernie couldn't get her tubes tied at 33.  I can understand the doctors not wanting to preform that procedure on a woman in her 20's but come on now I think 30 is old enough to know.  I think the health profession is sexist in terms of sterilization, more willing to perform the procedure on men than woman.  I bet some doctor would sterilize IDE if he wanted, minimal questions asked.

On a related note the 15 year neighbor, who just celebrated her quieceanrea, is preggers by her 19 year old gangster b/f.  She's been showing off her nasty belly to everyone (except us because we don't associate with them).  Another neighbor said the girl is real happy and delusional.  What the heck happened to when it was shameful and a disgrace to one's family to have a child out of wedlock?

This computer lab sucks. My pen runs out of ink and they don't have one I can borrow. They don't have scissors so I can't open up the hard-as-fuck-to-open-case for this 2g flash drive I  bought for $20 to replace the one I lost/had stolen. So now I'll have to walk back to my car about a half mile away.

My stick's bigger than yours.

Well I guess it has to match the size of your balls. It's only fair.

And when you start your car does it sound like this?:

"BitchBitchBitchBitchBitch..MOOOOOOAN...MOOOOOAN."
