In japanese, no. In spanish, hell yeah! He has a man voice in spanish. Also I prefer the spanish Vegeta than the japanese one. His voice is not as tough. But I have to say I got a little tingle in my toes when I heard him screaming "ONOREEEEE" to Cell

I may have seen it, but I don't remember. If I did, it apparently wasn't memorable enough to recall.

BTW, does anybody remember Last Exile? It was one of the few Gonzo titles that was actually very good, as opposed to just looking good. They're making a sequel...and if it's as half as good as the original, it's must-see TV.

Nope. Last Exile is nowhere near as good as its character designs.

And it's also one of those shows that has an amazing first episode, followed by a steady decline into mediocrity thereafter.

Oh, I remember it well. I was so looking forward to it, and then I was so, so disappointed. You don't forget shows like that.

Gonzo has been in the toilet lately, this is really nothing more than a blatant play on nostalgia.

"Boo hoo, you don't like any of our new stuff... how about some more of our old stuff?"

And all the little weeaboos gobble-gobble-gobble it up.

But I liked Last Exile. I didn't feel that it was really good until later on.

I'm not sure a sequel will be as good.

Last Exile was a good show. In fact, I believe I'll pull it from the mothballs this weekend and give it another run through and see if praise for it is being misappropriated or if joe's just being a curmudgeon. Again.

Strait Jacket - Not terrible but kinda a downer. Not like Basilisk where it's like a cool-downer. Like a lame WTF-was-the-point-of-this-shit downer.

I also saw part of a Golgo 13 episode. It kinda reminded me of one of those soft core pr0n things that attempts to have some sort of story and characterization but fails. And the nekkid bodies were ugo so it also failed as pr0n. I saw the first few minutes and then forwarded to the end. I'm confident I missed absolutely nothing.

Golgo 13 is basically Japanese 007 screwing around in between killing supposedly important people in totally impossible ways. I liked it, despite being as formulaic as you describe. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I think of Puuchuus from Excel Saga every time I see Duke Togo's face.

While trying to recall why I have such a keen distaste for Last Exile, I went back and took a look at what else premiered in 2003. I think that was right around the time I was beginning to realize that anime is mostly crap, and it was very embittering. Here's a list of shows from that same year that I enjoyed more than Last Exile.

Oh man, remember Wolf's Rain? Now there was a letdown.

There were a lot more that I watched, but Last Exile is by no means the worst from that year. Also, I can scarcely believe that was 8 years ago. 8 fucking years.

I can definitely agree on GitS:SAC 2nd Gig being better than Last Exile. I have not watched any thing else there. My room mate is obsessed on FMA.

Yeah, but...GitS:SAC was one of the best anime of all time. And I STILL haven't finished 2nd Gig, despite bothering to buy the whole series. I got a third of the way through and quit for whatever reason, and I never wanted to get back to it as I'd have to rewatch everything I saw already to get back up to speed.

Godannar was a lot of goofy fun.

What happened was that the whole series had not been released to DVD when I started watching, and I only saw the first two or three discs. IIRC, I had picked up another whole series at the time, so I switched over until 2nd Gig was completed. That was in sometime around early '06.

For some reason, I hadn't been "grabbed" by the show to start with, so I wasn't in a hurry, and before you know it, boom, it's five years later. I'd probably be better off to just rewatch the first season of SAC and see them back-to-back.

The local club finished off an anime series lately which was about the most cliche and moe anime harem series ever. And I just spent about 10 minutes looking up the title of the damn thing.
It's called Asobi ni iku yo!
So you have your typical high school boy. And a horny 16 year old catgirl alien from a planet of catgirls hides in his house because her species of catgirls are at war with dog girls and both species have impossibly large breasts and wear little clothing. You have the clumsy ditzy catgirl. You have the tsundere bitch girl. You have the shy geeky girl. You have maids and loli. There's fan service and nudity that's blocked out by mini-robots. And in the end, while two girls are fighting over the main character, the catgirl says "Let's all be with him!" So the main character gets his own harem at the end of the series.
Predictable, cliche, and boring.

Then there's Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
It's a magical girl anime that just about everyone in one anime group claims is the best fucking anime ever, even being a magical girl anime.
I'll give it one thing: it's far from cliche or overdone. Main characters die. The series is more serious and emo than light-hearted. There's quite a bit of action scenes, and not "In the name of uranus I do the same exact spell I've done 50 billion times to kill you in one hit." The action scenes are in a parallel dimension that is done with a unique style of artwork.
But, considering my favorite character gets killed by episode 3, and all the emo-ness of little girls crying all the time because people are dying and bad things are happening, I just don't think it's all it's hyped to be. A great series, probably. Just not the best series ever like some people act.
