Yes, I stole the topic from Powet because I uploaded stuff to post in their cat thread.  A couple of these I used, but the rest didn't get an audience over there.

I love this picture.  I know I've already posted it.

Bitch took my seat!

And this is him almost three years ago.

"What do you mean 'neutered'!"

I used to think most of that was fur but I was feeling around and he's getting a bit jiggly.  He used to be outside, but now he's under house arrest and he been diggin' into the ho-ho box.

God, this might bring Kary back here.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

YAY!  Only 6 hours to the weekend and cats piled on me while I try to read.  :)
Tortures end me,
Death befriends me.

is to love, and love in vain.

Strap up your Sri Lankan friends to the nearest tall tree because here's another tsunami of cuteness: Toki's baby pictures!  These are from the first night I brought her home.

**BUMP**

Maybe I should've made her own thread for this, but since it's about two weeks late and there's already pictures here, I'm gonna hijack.  Tokio died.  She had been having coughing fits.  We weren't quite sure what it was.  She had a coughing fit, had some sort of attack (a heart attack? I dunno) and died.  Like, I was sleeping in the next room and Schmoo called me over and by the time I ran over, she was already leaving this mortal coil.  Just wow because it was that sudden.  She was only 10.  But she had a very volatile temperment, so I kinda knew if she had any medical issues I wasn't gonna be able to help her.  It took three of us to give her one pill once.  We weren't going to able to medicate her like two of Merla's cats (one has blood pressure meds and the other has asthma).

She has a white urn like Button Nose's but slightly smaller in size.  I put it in Schmoo's room.  RIP, my little helion.  <3

RIP little fella
My friend's cat just died like 2 days ago too. She was 9. How long are cats supposed to live anyways? I had a hamster and she died after 2 years. I was so angry cause I didnt know why she died (she seemed healthy) and then I found out they only live that much

Apparently female cats, like female people, tend to live longer. My best friend and his wife got a cat after they married, and Nala died a week after their twentieth anniversary last year. And a lady in our community had one named Marie that lived to be 24.

Coincidentally, that would be about 23 1/2 years longer than I could deal with one on my own. But I have been known to become attached to them over time. We had a little gray cat named Spencer for six years that I felt bad about when we had to have him put down...the first nonhuman creature to ever reside under the same roof as me. And the last: there's only room in this house for one furry mammal, and that one is me.

Yeah, Faye-Faye, the average for a cat in general is 15 yrs.  A cat under relatively good conditions can live 20+ years.  The cat in the white urn (my first post in this thread, the last pic) lived to be nearly 17.  She lived about 8 or so of those outdoors.  I've never gotten to meet 20 year old cats though.

Oh damn that sucks. Ive never had cats but Ive had dogs. Their lives are so damn short compared to ours, thats what putting me off from buying a pet for my kids. They grow together but then they die 10-15 years afterwards :(

I've never had a cat die of the old age...the longest living one was 12 years, before he got attacked and killed by a local dog. And if could find out whose dog it was there would be trouble. Course there is a huge dog that has been coming around, and treeing my outside cats, who is wearing a collar but he runs off before I can get close enough to see the tag and thus I don't know who he belongs too so I can tell them to keep their dog off my fucking property.

I got my 16 yr old cat when I was 6 and she was a bitty kitten.  Sure, the loss was sad but it was cool growing up with that incredible cat.  That she would live a shorter life than me--ideally but never guaranteed, mind you--never put me off.

I got clawed in the face by one of those things while I was rolling a car on the floor when I was three. But I have never been bitten by a dog. So I gravitate towards dogs. Most of ours have gotten up to twelve or fifteen before buying it. My current mongrel is eight, but she's a German shepherd, so I'm not expecting many more out of her. I will say that, after having had all male dogs in the past, that I'll be getting female dogs from now on.

There's a joke here about you liking a good bitch but I can't construct it right now.  I can come back and edit this when I think of a real funny one, right?

The main appeal being that she doesn't piss on everything not nailed down or on fire, tends to be less aggressive, and doesn't mount other dogs.

Do male dogs do that even if they're fixed?  Or you never fixed them?  I wouldn't know since I've never owned a dog.  Fixed dude-cats are less frisky--pun intended--but Merla caught Jorge mounting our turtle light once.

I've had both dogs and cats...male and female of both. I've been scratched and bitten by cats and I've been bitten by dogs. But only a dog has tried to bring a dead rotting animal into my house.

That was one of my biggest issues with the cat. I don't want you to bring me your kills, cat! Good job tagging that mole or mouse or whatever, just go eat it and get rid of it. Of course, keeping a dog in the house is uncivilized, so I've never had that problem with them.

Ha ha.  We used to get a mouse here and there.  One time it was just the head.  Ew.  I remember when we got the babies (although the remaining three we kept will be two this April, so they're not actually babies anymore), they were all resting on our stoop and their mom had brought them a bird.  And I was all "yuck, I'll clean that shit later."  Then when I went to chell on everyone, the damn bird was in tiny pieces, most of it consumed by the mother and brood with the exception of the bird-head and a handful of feathers.  BLEH.  Now everyone is indoors anyway so there's no opportunity for anyone to bring us gifts right now.
